Thanks, biL, although it never occurred to me to form the shape first, then add the dirt and gravel.
I did mine while ballasting and adding ground cover, and it's simply more of the same heaped up and saturated with "wet" water and white glue.I also use the Walthers version of a track bumper, although a pile of manure might have been more appropriate here:
