Re: A few pics from my layout - nolatron - 12-23-2008 Can you share some details (& maybe a few photos) of the city backdrop you're using in those photos? Re: A few pics from my layout - jglfan - 12-23-2008 Gotta agree with everyone else, the weathering is superb. I'm surprised that you will add lettering after weathering, I look forward to seeing that. Gary Re: A few pics from my layout - Herc Driver - 12-23-2008 Wow - really nice layout scene and great - I mean great weathering. That rust looks real. My compliments. I too await a tutorial on just how you got the rust looking so lifelike. Re: A few pics from my layout - eightyeightfan1 - 12-24-2008 Nice job on the weathering. Can't wait for more. Re: A few pics from my layout - MLW - 12-26-2008 Geeez! Basically it's the reporting mark and car number. Nothing else Re: A few pics from my layout - MLW - 12-26-2008 Quote:Re: A few pics from my layout The city backdrop is available from realisticbackground. Website: http://www.realisticbackgrounds.com Also made my own. I found a picture that I wanted (internet), format it as I wanted in "paint" and printed it: Re: A few pics from my layout - MLW - 12-26-2008 I have posted a quick "how-to" for weathering in the "Tips-and-Tricks" section, title " Quick weathering " Cheers Re: A few pics from my layout - MLW - 01-01-2009 A few more pics. Nothing spectacular. Just taking a break from doing scenery. Running some trains right now. The first train of 2009 is this RS-18 pulling a few covered hoppers and stopping at Chambly Station (Could not upload pics directly here ?????) Re: A few pics from my layout - MLW - 01-01-2009 The RS-18 stopped at the station to let the company higher priority train go by. . . Re: A few pics from my layout - MLW - 01-01-2009 Before the RS-18 could go on however, CN premier high-speed passenger train, CN1 (which has priority over all other traffic) flew by the station on its high speed run to Montreal. Re: A few pics from my layout - Drew - 01-01-2009 Great modeling & great photos! Re: A few pics from my layout - MLW - 01-01-2009 Thanks! . Re: A few pics from my layout - Trucklover - 01-01-2009 I really like that last pic you posted, its fun to look at Re: A few pics from my layout - Fluesheet - 01-02-2009 MLW Wrote: Good stuff - I bet you spend some time on modeltrainsweathered.com (I think that's the name). Your work and the stuff there makes my head spin! Also, what are the objects poking out from the facia in the picture above? Are these switch knobs? Someplace to hang throttles? Matt |
