Great job, it looks like it was purchased from a hobby shop, not scratch built. When it's painted show us some pics.

Great work and so nice that you post the step by step so we can see that it might be possible for us as well. Well, after better developing sodlering skills!

Re: A gantry crane - Steve - 04-17-2009

As the head of Northern Pacific's Narrow Packages Division, it is my great pleasure to announce that .... Worship The Crane Worship has made its Trans-Atlantic journey in fine shape! All of the men who off-loaded it were amazed at not only its rugged design, but also its symetrical "beauty".

I have ordered that ...... Worship The Crane Worship be painted asap by our best (only) man.

We at NP would like to take this opportunity to thank the president/owner of Kurt's kranes for his brilliant craftsmanship and more importantly, his friendship.

Steve
Northern Pacific Division Manager

Good to hear that crane made its way safely across treacherous waters....Will look forward to seeing how that #1 painter finishes it up...!!! Thumbsup

Re: A gantry crane - cnw1961 - 04-18-2009

Thank you once again for your kind words about the crane. It was the first brass model I did and it was much easier to do than I expected. Brass is a very forgiving material. If you fail to solder the parts together properly on your first attempt, no harm done, you can try as often as you like. Now I, too, am looking forward to seeing what the best (only) painter of the Narrow Packages Division can do. I am glad that I don’t have to do it, as painting is not exactly my favorite part of the hobby.
