Pins (like tum-tacks) to hold the fabric (before I made the fascia)

I do go to that forum from time to time. Lots of amazing modellers.

Re: A few pics from my layout - MLW - 01-03-2009

I decided to take a break from weathering tracks and gluing/planting shrubs, and installed
a new backdrop instead.

I chose Sceniking (of Barrie Ont.) due to its low cost and because I was tired to look at the bare wall Eek
I must say that I was a bit sceptical at first Nope , but I think it looks pretty good.

Here's a look

Re: A few pics from my layout - Drew - 01-04-2009

The weathering on those freight cars is just awesome!

Re: A few pics from my layout - LynnB - 01-04-2009

Those are very nice looking weathered cars , any chance of pics of your layout? Cheers

Re: A few pics from my layout - MLW - 01-04-2009

Thanks guys!

Will post some more shortly

Re: A few pics from my layout - MLW - 01-04-2009

Some weather cars. The loco is not weather yet (except the trucks) and the road will be re-done later on, which prevent me from adding more “greenery” at this point. I will be adding telephone poles and vehicles a bit later.

And not all the cars are rust buckets or heavily weathered 35 Misngth

Re: A few pics from my layout - Russ Bellinis - 01-04-2009

I like your back drop and I like the variation of weathering on your cars. I think we need to fight the temptation to over weather every car in the train instead of having a mix of heavily weathered, lightly weathered and even some fresh paint jobs on new cars.

Thank you Russ Bellinis

You are a-b-s-o-l-u-t-e-l-y right. That is the difficult part: Variation in weathering. Wallbang

I try my best to step away from heavily weather cars (rust bucket) but I find it difficult, the temptation is too great. When I see the real thing I pay attention to the mix of non-weather (new), lightly weather and heavily weather (rust buckets).

I must admit that I find rust buckets fascinating to see and to [try to] replicate.
