RE: Rainbows in the Lehigh Valley Gorge - ngauger - 10-18-2026 Great work Todd!! RE: Rainbows in the Lehigh Valley Gorge - Charlie B - 10-18-2026 Todd, retirement is good but watch the age, it will come faster. Now you will have time I have photos of this hotel that was built into the hillside in Apollo, Pa It was well used before it burned several years ago. I think it would look good stuck to one of your hills. I think I could provide some images for printing if you have interest. I am glad to hear you are pulling the pin. My oldest son just did that too. Charlie RE: Rainbows in the Lehigh Valley Gorge - BR60103 - 10-18-2026 Retirement! There goes all the layout work time. Does your work have someone to advise you on post-retirement benefits? RE: Rainbows in the Lehigh Valley Gorge - TMo - 10-19-2026 Charlie, Yeah, that was one of the reasons I decided to go at 60 rather than 62.... I've seen a whole lot of people wait or plan to wait and suffer the ultimate regret with an untimely demise. That hotel does look interesting... However, I like that as a contributory project for the Wilderson! What do you think of that? David, Yeah, I may be overestimating the time available.... There are plenty of advisory retirement planning presentations, and I have been planning pretty hard for the past 10 years, so I'm very confident that my plan should work as long as 1) I don't live past 100, and 2) the world doesn't turn upside down. RE: Rainbows in the Lehigh Valley Gorge - tompm - 10-20-2026 Congratulations Todd. BTW that free time you thought you will have does not exist. You will find yourself busier than when you were working. I had to go and get another job so I would have free time. I pulled the trigger at 56. I had 35.5 years which was full pension and medical including prescriptions. I could have waited but middle management changed and not for the better. The plan was to take a year off and then go back to work but Covid screwed that up. I did get back to work in 2022 and am still going today. I am hoping to go until 65 or 67. |
