Re: Freelance 2016-2 - sailormatlac - 08-08-2016 Excellent work as always! The tan-colored bricks on the office is impressive! Matt Re: Freelance 2016-2 - faraway - 08-18-2016 Thanks for the kind comments It is harvest season and we run the trains in harvest gold! I do miss you modern work but this has a load of character that I think we can get in the very modern era... Re: Freelance 2016-2 - Steve - 08-19-2016 Reinhard, Outstanding work as always Re: Freelance 2016-2 - Genetk44 - 08-19-2016 The " Backyard views are excellent!!" Re: Freelance 2016-2 - doctorwayne - 08-19-2016 Great looking scenes, Reinhard. : Wayne Re: Freelance 2016-2 - faraway - 08-20-2016 Thanks for the kind words Re: Freelance 2016-2 - faraway - 08-23-2016 I would like to have some more industry in the center. The Walters meat packing kit might be a nice background building. IMG_5064 by faraway52, on Flickr It may expand to the left and replace the other building partially or in a whole. There would be still two large brick structures based on the Atlas Middlesex warehouse. IMG_5065 by faraway52, on Flickr The boiler house might fit in the middle ground between the tracks. The windows would be closed with concrete colored walls. Re: Freelance 2016-2 - faraway - 08-26-2016 I got an old Kato/Atlas MEC RS-11 from US ebay. The model is in close to perfect condition and the excellent drive is still a smooth runner. Got lubed anyway and enjoyed working with a model where the parts are made to perfectly fit. To my surprise fits a Tsunami "drop in" sound decoder without any problems. I added LEDa, painted the roof dark green, added some small details and weathered it to be in the early 1980s. Just forgot to plug the bell into the hole at the top of the long hood. IMG_5067 by faraway52, on Flickr There should be also some very old MEC Atlas GP7 and GP38 in harvest gold. I will have an eye on US ebay. Re: Freelance 2016-2 - MountainMan - 08-26-2016 You have accomplished something more difficult than accurate modelling by far - capturing the "look and feel" of a specific place in a specific period. I can see the warehousemen trundling their dollied crates back and forth while the trains clang and bang in an out, switching and dropping off more loads to be distributed. Outstanding - your images look like the real thing. Re: Freelance 2016-2 - lajry - 08-26-2016 Here's earlier versions of MEC RS-11 801 & 802 by Brandon Kulik from Maine. Re: Freelance 2016-2 - faraway - 08-28-2016 I returned to the industry building from last week Monday. The basics are done and the parts are temporary put together. IMG_5068 by faraway52, on Flickr Andy, the older red and green paint schemes of BM and MEC are beautiful. Re: Freelance 2016-2 - faraway - 08-29-2016 Another busy day working at the industry IMG_5069 by faraway52, on Flickr IMG_5070 by faraway52, on Flickr Re: Freelance 2016-2 - fwwrmodeler - 08-30-2016 That's an impressive structure there Reinhard ! Re: Freelance 2016-2 - faraway - 08-30-2016 Added roofs at the loading docks, put the buildings into the ground, did some weathering and added some details.
