FANTASTIC Lynn Re: L&M Rocky Mountain Pass - LynnB - 11-26-2009 Thanks Harry , you miss them the same way I do, enjoy the summer and miss all the great new builds going on, going to take me a month of sundays to catch up Re: L&M Rocky Mountain Pass - Trucklover - 11-27-2009 Beautiful work Lynn!! There is so much detail in the structures and scenery, it all makes it come together real nice! Keep up the great work Re: L&M Rocky Mountain Pass - cnw1961 - 11-27-2009 Lynn, good to see you making progress again ... I almost forgot this thread and your layout since you did not post for so long ... . Your new strcuture is beautiful. If it is a kit, who made it? Re: L&M Rocky Mountain Pass - sgtcarl1 - 11-27-2009 Lynn, Fantastic scene!!! Those mountains, and everything else, looks real!! Re: L&M Rocky Mountain Pass - LynnB - 11-28-2009 Good to be back at it guys. Kurt its a Bar Mills Wicked Wanda's kit, its a lot of fun building. Re: L&M Rocky Mountain Pass - Herc Driver - 11-28-2009 Great Work!!! Wonderful background painting...the soft cast of the mountains is really neat. Wonderful work on the structures too. Re: L&M Rocky Mountain Pass - OBJack - 12-19-2009 I love your Wicked Wanda Lynn, it looks a treat man, well weathered and the colour is spot on. I too have it, although it is sitting on the bench waiting for its time at the moment. I really am no good at colours so may have to steal your colouring and aged/weathered wood concept when her time comes to be built. As you say it looks like a fun build. Those mountains you agonised over for so long have gone huh? But I had a look at the link you posted for the tutorial on your new method, and was very impressed. Obviously you were as well, and you have done a great job on the repaint. A couple of questions if I may.. How hard was it doing the backdrop again, in-situ, with all the scenery now in place in front of the backdrop, and between you and the work. And did you actually attend the clinic, and meet Chris? He seems a very fine modeler. I thought your mountain backdrop was great, but you have added a new dimension now and I think it has diversified the background a bit, and given you more scope to blend the foreground into it, (IMHO )....... and improved the look. Jack Re: L&M Rocky Mountain Pass - LynnB - 12-19-2009 Hi Jack thanks for the compliments. No I didn't go to the clinic but it clarified a lot when I met Chris on holidays and he showed me a couple things, it was then we realized what was going on when I tried to paint, the brush was too soft and lost its courseness which would not alow the individual trees to pop up. As for redoing the backdrop with scenery and buildings already up well it was just as much a pain as the first time around Re: L&M Rocky Mountain Pass - Steamtrains - 12-19-2009 Lynn....Terrific job...!! That background is really EXTREMELY well done. It just doesn't hide a blank wall - it wraps the whole scene together. Congrats..!! Re: L&M Rocky Mountain Pass - LynnB - 01-09-2014 I can't believe where the time has gone. Re: L&M Rocky Mountain Pass - LynnB - 11-14-2014 Just want to bring the layout build upto speed, it was taken down last January and I started a expanded version that is incorporating a lot of the things I liked about the old layout but is higher off the floor and has another room added on. Re: L&M Rocky Mountain Pass - tomustang - 11-16-2014 Very nice work Lynn |
