Re: Railfanning Norfolk Southern RR - Charlie B - 08-13-2010 I caught the local in Wampum, coming off the Koppel secondary, on it's way to Hazelton yard in Youngstown. Today, 8-13-10 Charlie Re: Railfanning Norfolk Southern RR - Charlie B - 08-15-2010 NS 9193 East at Pleasant Drive, East Palestine, Ohio. August 14, 2010 Charlie Re: Railfanning Norfolk Southern RR - cn nutbar - 08-16-2010 Hello Everyone---before I posted my photo,I wanted to make sure I wasn't posting a duplicate shot so I went through the entire thread (all 23 pages) and I'm glad I did---there are a lot of excellent photos Anyway, here's my shot taken last June while I was railfanning with Charlie and Doctor Wayne Re: Railfanning Norfolk Southern RR - LiveSteamer - 08-16-2010 Great photo's guys. This thread has been active for over a year. Who knew it would grow up to 23 pages and keep going. Keep posting the photo's guys. Re: Railfanning Norfolk Southern RR - cn nutbar - 08-17-2010 Hello Everyone---I found some more pictures from a railfanning trip last June with Charlie and Doctor Wayne---I hope I haven't already posted this shot Re: Railfanning Norfolk Southern RR - Herc Driver - 08-17-2010 Somebody please explain to me why no manufacturer makes a NS Dash-9 in Nscale? An engine that looks that good in black and white (and a little yellow on the handrails) deserves to be made by Kato or Atlas or Athearn. Re: Railfanning Norfolk Southern RR - csiguy68 - 08-18-2010 Herc Kato is making an N scale Dash 9, just not in NS. i just saw them on their website. Todd Re: Railfanning Norfolk Southern RR - tomustang - 08-18-2010 Probably because NS chose the 9-40 over the more popular and more road purchased 9-44's. Re: Railfanning Norfolk Southern RR - csiguy68 - 08-18-2010 Caught a trio of NS locomotives sitting out on the approach to Kiski Junction Railroad Bridge., today around 11;30. they were all tied together, shutdown with no one around them. Charlie Re: Railfanning Norfolk Southern RR - doctorwayne - 08-18-2010 You probably wouldn't have had enough time for a complete re-paint, but you coulda made Kiski "patch" jobs outa them. Wayne Re: Railfanning Norfolk Southern RR - Charlie B - 08-18-2010 I knew a fellow that never got a picture of a certain locomotive lettered for its previous road. It was still in their colors so he had a matching banner printed with their lettering and scotts taped it in place, took his pictures, and was happy ever after. Re: Railfanning Norfolk Southern RR - csiguy68 - 08-18-2010 your right charlie they still dont care they never called or anything to see if it was ok to park there . im not sure how long they were there, but i left later in the afternoon and they were still there. but they were as you can see parked off the bridge, not on it, like they do occassionally. Todd Re: Railfanning Norfolk Southern RR - Herc Driver - 08-19-2010 I guess I'll just have to get an undecorated Dash-9 from Kato and paint it myself. Still, those Dash-9's look great in black. |
