SIGNALS ON THE PRR,NYC & PENNCENTRAL - pennman - 09-15-2009

Ok guys show your stuff! I'mto the point where I have to start putting signals in on my layout and cant seem to find any clear input as to what signals are prototypical to this era in railroading. I model the PennCentral in Eastern PA and Jersey in Nscale.
Let me know what I can do.
Thanks,Tony

Yep, all of the photos in the my copy of "Penn Central in Color vol 2" that cover the area you're talking about have the position light signals Mikey refers to.
Here's more info on them....<!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://mysite.du.edu/~jcalvert/railway/prraspec.htm">http://mysite.du.edu/~jcalvert/railway/prraspec.htm</a><!-- m -->

Pennman, Hi ! Knew I'd find this w/o digging through my files - http://www.railroadsignals.us/rulebooks/cr88/cr88.htm - showing the position light signal aspects and indications as adopted by CR from the PRR. Note that some aspects are "automatic" wayside signals, some are "manual-block", and some, interlocking signals. It's really not too hard to find the one(s) you need by checking the indication rules, or picking brains. 35 Bob C.
