FWIW, the East Penn Traction Club Standards, both HO and O scales, predate the N scale standards by about 5 years as they came into being in 1969, so they are actually the granddaddy of modular standards.

Hallo,

at the FREMO we have some groups modelling the North American prototype. We N scalers call our group americaN. Look here for further information: <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.fremo-net.eu/index.php?id=168">http://www.fremo-net.eu/index.php?id=168</a><!-- m -->

Building Modules - MasonJar - 01-21-2010

One of the guys (Railway Bob) at our local modular club (<!-- w --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.hotrak.ca">www.hotrak.ca</a><!-- w -->) has started a blog with an illustrated step-by-step on how to build modules. The blog follows the progress of a pair of modules built to HOTrak standards, but can be adapted to meet any modular/domino/sectional layout that must be regularly transported.

Railway Bob is also a member (although infrequent poster) here at Big Blue.

HO clubs in central NY - NJ Devils Fan - 06-14-2010

Does anyone know of a HO scale modular club in or around central NY. I live near Utica. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Can't help with that specific question - maybe the NMRA club listing has something?

But <!-- w --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.hotrak.ca">www.hotrak.ca</a><!-- w --> in Ottawa is less than 4 hours. While I am not suggesting that you come for every weekend set-up, the annual "Rally" in January would be worth the trip.

NMRA-BR (British Region) 'standards' are here:

<!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.nmrabr.org.uk/member-articles/153-draft-nmra-ho-module-specification">http://www.nmrabr.org.uk/member-article ... cification</a><!-- m -->

Hopefully we'll see more and more UK (and perhaps european) modellers adopt these for larger and larger gatherings around the UK, also see this thread : <!-- l --><a class="postlink-local" href="http://www.the-gauge.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=6482">viewtopic.php?f=17&t=6482</a><!-- l -->

For those of you in the Lake County Illinois area,
Lake County society of Modular Engineers.
Module specifications can be obtained through Ron's Mundelein Hobbies, or I can scan and print a set.
We are at Trainfest every year, and there are occasional Mall shows that we attend, for a weekend of fun.
