I'm Back, But Away For A While Soon... - Lighthorseman - 12-16-2008 Hello to all my old Gauge friends - some of whom I have run into on other forums. I had pretty much given up on the Zealot business, so it really is nice to see the REAL Gauge back again. I sure do hope that many of the older members who left will find their way back here as well. As for me, I'm still modelling in On30, still have nothing really in a finished state, as I seem to jump from one project to the next...can anyone identify with this? My layout is a freelanced Northern Canadian narrow gauge line that fictionally links the Yukon and White Pass with a (never built) extension of the Dolly Varden Mines railway. I'm hoping to incorporate some Y&WP equipment here and there, as well as some of the "Megill River and Lighthorse Railway", who uses narrow gauge equipment purchased from many different and eclectic sources, as well as home-built whenever possible. As mentioned, I will be off for about 6 months as I have been accepted for training with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, and upon successful completion (fingers crossed!) of 6 months of training, will be enrolled as a member. I'm not too sure what kind of free time I will have during this period, but will try to check in here and there. Re: I'm Back, But Away For A While Soon... - Trucklover - 12-16-2008 back home to the "old" gauge Good luck with your training Re: I'm Back, But Away For A While Soon... - ezdays - 12-16-2008 Glad you made it back Steve. Re: I'm Back, But Away For A While Soon... - tomustang - 01-03-2009 Wow, 6 months training, good luck with that Re: I'm Back, But Away For A While Soon... - Lighthorseman - 02-13-2009 Six weeks in! I'm a quarter of the way through. Every day is about 19 hours long. High intensity, super-accelerated learning senario-based training. So far, we've almost done it all. Handguns, driving, vehicle stops, hand-to-hand, and tons of criminal code, charter of rights and freedoms, powers of arrest, as well as anger management, mediation and interviewing. Next week we get pepper sprayed, CS gassed and CEWed. (Conducted Energy Weapon..."Taser") Oh, the fun. Re: I'm Back, But Away For A While Soon... - Ralph - 02-13-2009 Thanks for checking in! Geeeez, good luck next week! Ralph Re: I'm Back, But Away For A While Soon... - Bigsteel - 02-13-2009 glad to see you checkin up on us ,ooooh, the pepper spray and tazers are always fun! anyways, good luck on the rest of the training.--josh Re: I'm Back, But Away For A While Soon... - sgtcarl1 - 02-15-2009 Been through tear gas, and what was supposedly mustard gas, back in the day. Good luck and stay safe. And thank you for doing that for your country. It's better than the military, I would venture. Re: I'm Back, But Away For A While Soon... - Herc Driver - 02-16-2009 Best of Luck!!! |
