Looking at my car cyclopedia's and White's wooden car book, ladders and roof walks on cabooses didn't come about until late in the nineteenth century.

Nice work. These techniques are also useful for people wishing to cut down HO cars into HOn3, and for those wanting to cut down HOn3 cars to HOn30.
