PM issues adminstrator question - Saltwater Cowboy - 02-04-2010

Hey mods: according to the FAQ...

I cannot send private messages!
There are three reasons for this; you are not registered and/or not logged on, the board administrator has disabled private messaging for the entire board, or the board administrator has prevented you from sending messages. Contact a board administrator for more information.


Well I'm logged on....so what gives? I think I'm still learning the techs of this board.

Received 2 pms from Mikey and Ralph and replied but the replies sit in the outbox and don't show them as being sent. It says they were sent successfully though...

Matt,

Your PM's will sit in your outbox until they are picked up by the recipient. Once they are, they will then move to your "sent" folder. BTW, you can go back and edit or delete any PM still in your outbox anytime before they are picked up. It looks like things are working right for you.

Thanks guys...I was looking for a "send-receive" button like a Windows e-mail screen I guess! :oops:

The PM system here is just a bit different than our old forum where we used vBulletin. There, once you "sent" a PM, it was gone. Here you have the ability to retract or edit it before the recipient picks it up plus you always know when a PM has been looked, and I like those features.
