Fantastic! Love the Santa Fe blue and yellow, even when it isn't Santa Fe anymore. Is that a GP 20?

It wasn't that long ago that I frequently saw the yellowbonnet scheme here in Houston. But for the past six months, all I see is the BNSF orange and black (dark green?).

Oh... that track looks scary!

Gary,That is a Topeka cab GP7U rebuild.The Santa Fe rebuilt 298 GP7s between '72 and '81..The Topeka cab was added starting with the 1974 rebuilds.

And the tilt on the 3rd picture down..!! I wouldn't ride that track, even if they paid me..!!! (Unless it was a LOT..!! Goldth ) Aren't there regulations that control that kind of thing...(state of the track and such...)..??

There are regulations and if a train doesn't operate over certain speeds or carry passengers these are serviceable tracks.

Guys,A lot of PRR's urban industrial branch lines had track very similar to that..The locomotive and freight cars would bob,sway and weave along their way..We thought nothing of it.

After watching the fireman walk across the cab of a swaying SW7 to get a light for his cigar,I guess I had a look of astonishment on my face because I was told by the firemen it was like riding a B6sb 0-6-0..

Is that Liberty Center where the engine move ended? I visited this line some years ago when it was still being operated(?) by Indiana Hi-Rail and the track wasn't in much better condition then. Neat photos!

Wrong way, this is westbound out of Napoleon and Liberty Center is east of. The tracks from Napoleon to Liberty Center are out-of-service as there are no active customers at the end of the line anymore and there are currently storage cars on the main. This chase was was Napoleon west to Okalona, a distance of about five miles. If you click on my photos you'll see them on flickr with more detailed information.
