Re: Kentucky Bourbon & GERNFLUX - LynnB - 01-01-2009 Nice job on the cars Jim. Just curious how do you take old lettering off and then apply new lettering? Re: Kentucky Bourbon & GERNFLUX - jmarksbery - 01-01-2009 Thanks Wayne. I plan on a good size section for it. This will be one of the back building. Can add a lot in a small space in N-Scale! Re: Kentucky Bourbon & GERNFLUX - jmarksbery - 01-01-2009 Lynn, it depends on the car really. This car had stamped lettering on it, I light sanded it and repainted the car. I make my own decals on the puter. Some cars I use a pencil eraser to remove the lettering. There is probably more ways to do it than you can shake a stick at. The second boxcar is an outside braced one and they are always a challenge to do. Re: Kentucky Bourbon & GERNFLUX - e-paw - 01-01-2009 What proof is that maltflux???? Re: Kentucky Bourbon & GERNFLUX - jmarksbery - 01-17-2009 More, Re: Kentucky Bourbon & GERNFLUX - jmarksbery - 01-17-2009 Last one for now Re: Kentucky Bourbon & GERNFLUX - doctorwayne - 01-17-2009 Looks great, Jim. I especially like the view up the tracks between the buildings, and the signs look good, too. Wayne Re: Kentucky Bourbon & GERNFLUX - jmarksbery - 01-17-2009 Thanks Wayne. It still is not done. Re: Kentucky Bourbon & GERNFLUX - cnw1961 - 01-17-2009 That looks really fantastic, great job. I especially like your weathered GERN signs . Re: Kentucky Bourbon & GERNFLUX - Ralph - 01-17-2009 Fantastic Jim! I especially like the big Gern sign and those loading bay doors with the windows! The whole complex has a very believable gritty look to it. I can smell the mash! Ralph Re: Kentucky Bourbon & GERNFLUX - jmarksbery - 01-17-2009 Thanks guys. Still a lot to do. I think this is just a section of the complex, I need to make a bottle plant and who knows what else. This is N-Scale, mostly scratch built/kit bashed. Re: Kentucky Bourbon & GERNFLUX - MountainMan - 01-20-2009 Why all the military vehicles at a civilian distillery? Re: Kentucky Bourbon & GERNFLUX - eightyeightfan1 - 01-20-2009 Its only disguised a a civilian distillery, because it actually a bio-chemical munitions factory. The burbon is the by-product. Didn't know GERN was into "black-ops". |
