Todd Re: STRANR CAR AT CRESSON ON 6-15-2011 - LiveSteamer - 06-16-2011 Hey todd you mean this car? LOL I was up there yesterday also. You might have seen me, I was up next to the tracks getting photo's of the RP-E4C that was sitting there. I thought that was you there yesterday but was not sure. Todd Re: STRANR CAR AT CRESSON ON 6-15-2011 - LiveSteamer - 06-16-2011 I seen that railcar and was wondering what it was so the wife turned the car around so I could get a picture of it. Re: STRANE CAR AT CRESSON ON 6-15-2011 - Charlie B - 06-16-2011 It's a scale test car Charlie Re: STRANGE CAR AT CRESSON ON 6-15-2011 - Steamtrains - 06-16-2011 Would that be 1:1 scale..?? Seriously...what is the function of those scale cars..?? I've seen them mentioned elsewhere, but have no idea what they do.... Re: STRANGE CAR AT CRESSON ON 6-15-2011 - csiguy68 - 06-16-2011 Do you see those in your neck of the woods Steamtrain? i would think down there is where they would be. just one of the cars that you wonder why they would need it? Todd Re: STRANGE CAR AT CRESSON ON 6-15-2011 - LiveSteamer - 06-16-2011 If i am not mistaken the scale cars are used to calibrate the scales in the yards. Re: STRANGE CAR AT CRESSON ON 6-15-2011 - Charlie B - 06-16-2011 Just a guess on my part but I would bet they use these to test the scales where grain is loaded in order to make sure the farmer is getting a fair shake.
