I was just trying to add a little fun in the name. This is not a real railroad. I thought it was fictitious to have some fun with. I am truely sorry for causing so much grief I think I will ask that my suggested name be withdrawn and I will just back out of this. I was just thinking we could "shorten" the name to something like: Northeast & Southwest Railway... That makes it a bit easier as far as a name.. And it still conveys the "Name that works anywhere" and the ID could be N & S RR Re: We are wondering what you think about this.... - Brakie - 07-27-2011 Catt Wrote:What's with this shortline thing? This railroad is meant to be a worldwide railroad(way), not some down on it's luck shortline barely surviving in a small market place served by the big guys. John,I was trying to find a easy way to add your idea to models without a lot of hassle or added cost-unless you want a paper railroad where there is no cars or locomotives but, what fun would that be? You got a great idea that should be fun if properly done instead of following the old route of big blue railroad (or whatever it was) why not find a better way? That was the origonal intent which was to have railroad owned by the members of Big Blue but not named for the website. If you guys want a holding company why not just call it Big Blue Rail and be done with it and my idea. Re: We are wondering what you think about this.... - Mike Kieran - 07-27-2011 Why can't we have the railroad named with it's subsidiaries sublettered or just with the owning railroad's lettering. Ohio Central and New York Central did it. Like it or not, the owning railroad IS the holding company. Re: We are wondering what you think about this.... - Ralph - 07-27-2011 How about we keep coming up with brainstormed names so we can eventually create a poll with several choices? Ralph Re: We are wondering what you think about this.... - ngauger - 07-27-2011 Just thought of this one..... Central Area TransporTation
C.A.T.T. No implied distances, no "Holding Company" Nothing but a simple "Roadname" ......... and go Geographical Reference!
