ATSF LA "The Patch" in ATSF CLIC 6/1/86 Version - lajry - 01-08-2015

Here's an image of the Patch from ATSF CLIC book dated 6/1/86 (pg 30-35). Hopefully it's good enough to see all the details If not copy it to run it thru something like Picasa which is where mine is. If you want to see it in aerials use "1717 Industrial St 90021" in Bing, Google 7 historicaerials, com. The last one will show the industries as they were back in just about any era you're modeling. They also Have USGS maps
Looks like you have all the Xovers oriented the way they are in the CLIC. Your plan is a very good reproduction of the Patch. Only thing "wrong" is your plan has Mill St dead ending at Seventh St. when it goes another 3 blocks or so. You should KEEP the 3 way switch in spite of what Trainplayer says. LOL Have you thought about finding old head Santa Fe C&Es who worked the patch. Also check the archives on the "ATSF" & "Santa Fe" Yahoo Groups forums because the Patch has been discussed there.

So for those that asked, years ago now, this layout got started but was never completed beyond laying some track. Life intervened pretty harshly at the time. I have only just recently looked at getting back into model railroading. I have been researching an area of Denver known as warehouse row which I find just as interesting as the Patch and I have to negotiate for space for it. This means my ATSF collection maybe up for sale as I shift to D&RGW.

Hello Kris,

there is no really need to sell your ATSF collection: https://www.google.com/search?q=atsf+in+denver+colorado&client=firefox-b-d&sxsrf=ALiCzsYW02mmofdPoe4Zz1qOYICEX22hiw:1668078475715&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwjGi4LIvKP7AhX6gv0HHVEJDiUQ_AUoAXoECAEQAw&biw=1472&bih=689&dpr=1.3
The Santa Fe was even active in Denver /CO

True, the freight cars can stay right here. I just need to sell or trade those CF7s for something in D&RGW livery.
