Age of Steam Roundhouse in Ohio - RobertInOntario - 01-17-2012 I've only just recently learned about the Age of Steam Roundhouse in Ohio (http://www.ageofsteamroundhouse.com/). I was wondering if any forum members -- especially those who live in the Ohio area -- have heard about this and/or have visited it. I'm really excited about this but it almost seems too good to be true -- i.e. (if I understand the details correctly) a private individual is basically constructing a new steam roundhouse and already has about 9 steam locos, many of which are operational. It's also curious that they will be operating freight trains (I wonder why not passenger?) and making it an educational facility to teach future generations about steam locos. It looks as if the roundhouse is next to an easily accessible mainline. I also need to spend more time reading the details on their site! At any rate, I''ll keep watching this site and possibly plan a trip from Toronto to Ohio. I just spent some time reading much of the info on their site, so I have answers to some of my questions. Still very impressive! It's great that they have some Canadian locos as well, including an operational CPR pacific.
