Re: Vestvagoy / A norway harbour at 1/13.7 scale - Sumpter250 - 11-04-2013 Franck, The progress looks good !!!! Yes, I will be following this closely, because you are modeling "railroad" and "The sea and ships". "If sailor tales to sailor tunes, Storm and Adventure, Heat and Cold, and all the old romance retold exactly in the ancient way" - Rbt Louis Stevenson I don't think there a a lot of us out here, and as much as I am enjoying what I am doing with my modules, I am also enjoying watching your Norway Harbor taking shape. At 1:87 scale, I can get away with a lot of "hinting at detail". At 1: 13.7 scale, you almost have to model every nut, bolt and washer, not to mention the individual scales on each fish ! OK, maybe not every "scale", on every fish Re: Vestvagoy / A norway harbour at 1/13.7 scale - franckcombe - 11-05-2013 Sumpter250 Wrote:Franck, For the fish I have marvelous one mold by an english cratfmen. For the rest, effectvly I have no choice, yesturday I put nail to hold the handle The advantage is that the detail are big scale, so it's easier to model it. Re: Vestvagoy / A norway harbour at 1/13.7 scale - franckcombe - 01-19-2014 I have practically finish the building. The boat is not finished. Re: Vestvagoy / A norway harbour at 1/13.7 scale - Svein - 01-22-2014 Looking really good, and a great idea for a small layout! Slightly off topic, but here's a video showing Lofoten from the cockpit of an F-16 fighter. The video was shot last summer by the Norwegian armed forces, in conjunction with the 40y anniversary of the F-16. Just sit back and enjoy the ride!:http://www.aftenposten.no/webtv/Slik-har-du-aldri-sett-Lofoten-for-7440168.html Svein Re: Vestvagoy / A norway harbour at 1/13.7 scale - franckcombe - 01-23-2014 Svein Wrote:Looking really good, and a great idea for a small layout! thank you very much for the link It allows me to have a good idea of the sea. Re: Vestvagoy / A norway harbour at 1/13.7 scale - franckcombe - 06-08-2014 After a long period of inactivity on the layout, I made some progress on the boat. I need to add few details. Re: Vestvagoy / A norway harbour at 1/13.7 scale - Sumpter250 - 06-08-2014 Aaahhrrrrr, That be a fine vessel you got thar, matie !! Bit of a small pilot house, but the interior details there are just perfect. The two tubs-O-fish, looks like the marnin's been a profitable one. Hopin' no one trips on, them thar boots :o With a life raft, a Radar antenna, lights, handrails, and radio antennas, the pilot house roof's a bit crowded.... Waiting to see what other goodies you're going to add. Re: Vestvagoy / A norway harbour at 1/13.7 scale - franckcombe - 06-19-2014 The layout progresses a little Re: Vestvagoy / A norway harbour at 1/13.7 scale - franckcombe - 01-22-2015 I just finish tree locos for this layout. I work hard during 3 days to paint them and weather them. The first one is a free lance diema base on a 040 davenport of Bachman. I use few laser cut parts. The second one is a free lance loco base on a 040 davenport of Bachman. I use parts of backwood transkit. I'm not very happy with the result but The loco will stay like that. The last one is a Gmeinder 18/20 on a davenport chassis. I use marvellous casting parts of Bill Martinsen c/. I just finish a snow plow inspired by a narrow gauge model from Germany I just finish a snow plow connect to a loco inspired by a narrow gauge model in Italy. I add also light to my building. I test also a new kind of snow because I'm fully satisfied by this one. This week end I wil do an exhibition near Bruxelles with the woolacombe bay. Re: Vestvagoy / A norway harbour at 1/13.7 scale - Sumpter250 - 03-17-2015 Hope the exhibition goes well. You've done a lot of really nice work, and should get a lot of praising comments. "I spent a lot of time to finish my boat, I'm not a model boat builder so It's quite boring. " For something that was "quite boring" You did an excellent job doing it. Looks mighty darn nice to me !
