Morning all. Raining hard and warm. Not getting bad stuff like some did west of NC. Prayers for them. Off to run some Christmas errands.

Glad Cracker Barrel got the word. Understand lots of emails to them in support of the Duck Dynasty crew.

Tomorrow will be a zoo. Kids at noon and then In-laws that afternoon/evening. Christmas day, nothing. Canceled big In-laws afternoon meal. We may do a movie.

Have a good one.

Good evening all.

Been home from work for a little bit, need to settle down and unwind a bit. Its been about an hour I can still hear the machinery and feel like I am still standing in front of a hopper.

It is cold here but no rain or snow as of yet . The Scioto river was very close to touching the underside of the bridge on route 104 as I drove home did not notice on the way in to work. Lucky me I am scheduled for 1st shift Tuesday.

Shopping all done everything all wrapped up.

Had a somewhat busy day. No progress on Oliver's adventure. Didn't even turn the //e on. We had lunch in town today at Domino's pizza. I had a small pizza. Put a large ham in the oven a little before noon. It was ready about 5:30-6. That's going to be the sandwich meat supply for a while. We went into town tonight to look at the Christmas light displays people have set up. It's pretty sparse this year.

That's it for tonight. See y'all tomorrow.

Good chilly morning all,

Will soon have to leave for work this morning and there is a fresh dusting of snow out there already.

RB,

Packing pizza for lunch today from Scioto Downs(horse track/casino also known as racino), have not had a Dominos in a long while. Been on a run of little Cesar's $5.00 hot and ready pizza. Best Pizza in town is Cardo's.

Well the cold air returned.... 35 heading up yo 42. 2 days ago it was 68 Eek

A light dusting of Christmas Eve snow is in the forecast. It actually snows here on Christmas Eve and/or Christmas every 8 - 10 years, so it's kind of rare.....

Good morning to all on this Christmas Eve. I hope all of you tuck yourselves in tight tonight so that Santa doesn't pass you by.

Right now, at 5:30, it's 43 out, but we're in for temps in the low 70's for the next four days. A bit above the average, but not a record. The record for today is 78 back in 1971. The record low for today is 26, just three years later.

That's surprising, I would have thought you'd have snow a couple of feet deep by this time every year. When I was growing up in New Jersey, I can't remember one Christmas where we didn't at least have snow of the ground, and it stayed there all winter long...

Morning. Sunny and chilly. Busy hectic day. Get ready to go run the morning errands [stuffed fresh sausage for tomorrow's breakfast and then Smithfield Chicken and Barbeque for today's lunch. May get a batch of fried gizzards for Frankie and myself]. All done and back by noon.

Since it is Christmas eve, Merry Christmas to all.

Later.

Good morning. It's 31° with wind chill of 27°. Humidity: 99%. The high will be 52° and feel like 56°.

We had a heavy frost last night and now nearly everything is white. That's about the closest we get to a white Christmas here.

No plans for today that I know of. There's no telling what my father might have planned. My back and right thigh got quite the workout yesterday and are letting me know all about it this morning. Taking a day-long break would probably be a good idea.

All my Christmas presents for the family are wrapped and tagged. Being a poor man I save money wherever I can. The wrapping paper is recycled and I made the bows by pulling strips of paper over a scissors blade then looped them in different patterns and taped them in place. Something I learned to do back in 1965.

We lived in Kearny and could see the NY skyline and Jersey City from our back window. We used to go out into the Medowlands just a few blocks from where we lived. Our grade school was at the bottom of the hill and we could slide down in seconds going there, but getting home was a lot tougher. 357 Jr. high was just the opposite since it was at the top of the hill. :o

Good evening all and merry Christmas .

Work was a riot today everything that could go wrong did and we were under pressure to stay as long as it took to get done. We went from a possible early release early in the morning to mandatory OT with no hope in sight and somehow we managed to pull it together and finished our runs at normal end of shift.

The drive to work was so so but at end of shift everyone was on the road.

Re: The Hobo Camp Fire Is going well #VI.. Stop In!!! - Running Bear - 12-24-2013

No computer time thus far today. I was busy doing this and that until my father left for work. Had a chat with my niece this afternoon while she was wrapping gifts. She's one of the 'last minute' crowd when it comes to that. When she finished that she took off to visit her husband at work. That's about a three hour drive. Just over two hours the way she drives. I put the gifts I wrapped for my family on the trestle table in the great room so they can be packed up to my sisters place tomorrow. Christmas dinner will be served there also. No turkey. It's Tex-Mex. Her enchiritos are famous. One by itself is enough for a meal. Many people can't finish one. I can tackle two plus the dinner fixings. There will also be tacos, refried beans, sweet potatoes and whatever else she whips up. My father is taking a large ham so there will be something he considers to be Christmas dinner.

Off to bed before Santa gets here. Merry Christmas all and to all a good night.

Re: The Hobo Camp Fire Is going well #VI.. Stop In!!! - ezdays - 12-25-2013

Good morning, and a very Merry Christmas to you all. I hope Santa was good to you and to yours. We've been preparing for today over the last few weeks by watching:
Santa Clause
Santa Clause 2
Santa Clause 3
The Christmas Story
National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation
Donovan's Reef (kinda Christmasy)
Miracle on 34th Street
White Christmas
How the Grinch stole Christmas

and last night, as we always do, we watched Scrooge
The only one we missed is, It's a Wonderful Life, and we have that on our DVR to watch today.
If that doesn't get you in the Christmas spirit, nothing does....

As for our Christmas weather, right now at 6 AM we're in the mid-50's, with a forecast of the low-70's. You can see why no one sells sleds, snow shovels, snow boots or ice skates around here. Some stores do sell skis just in case you're headed up north. The ski slopes are open up there.
