Greetings, gang.

RB - glad to hear everything is going well for you.

First up the good news. Son has a hole between two of the chambers in his heart. Now, before you panic, everyone is born with this. For most people the hole grows closed in infancy and early childhood. In some people, it never grows closed but that person may live a full and complete life without ever knowing it's there. In my son's case it didn't work quite that way. This is what caused the blood clot which caused the mini stroke. There was some discussion about surgery to close the hole but the neurologist and the cardiac specialist decided that the hole is too small to be worth the risk of surgery and that the best course of treatment is a daily aspirin. He is home now and is slowly recovering speech, physical, and mental abilities but all signs are positive.

My wife had her first chemo today and it went well but after we got home she started having some pain in her stomach. After a call to OneNurse we took her to the emergency room where she was treated with Mylanta and released. She is sleeping peacefully right now.

I want to thank all of your for your good thoughts, prayers, burnt offerings, rubber chicken waving, or what ever it is that you have done. Today was a good day and I thank all of you.

Tom

Prayers for your family Tom! Glad to hear your son is recovering and that your wife is more comfortable and able to sleep. I watched my dad go through chemo and it was no picnic.

Good Morning Blue
Oh boy Last nights rain turned to snow. Broke the old 1890s record for snowest winter. 94+ inches.
The pavement is clear and dry as it was too warn to stick. Grass and cars have snow on them though.
High temp for today will be 38.
Tom your wife is just beginning a long hard road, all the best to both of you.

Good morning. It's 41° with 67% humidity. It'll be sunny with a high of 60°.

No hard and fast plans set for today. I'm expecting a call from Home Health at some point so they can tell me about their schedule. They're supposed to be providing me with a wound vac in about a week. In the meantime the wound is supposed to be redressed every day or so and I have no supplies with which to do it. I guess it's a sit back and watch TV type day.

Morning. Back from early Dr.'s apt. Not got pneumonia yet. Blood ox marginal. On meds now.

Wifey back from the frozen North. Says it was starting to snow when she left. Big T'storms here this AM. Sunny now but they say more on the way. Wash this horrible pollen away.

Prayers for Tom's Wife, RB and others.

KEV, had to paint it that way. Afraid you Yanks would come down and confiscate him. Icon_lol

Resting up rest of the day after a meeting at Town Hall with Town Manager and a visit to the store [HH].

Good morning everyone. So, I see many of you are still dealing with the white stuff. Sorry to hear that, but nicer days are just around the corner. Ours came early this year, our problems now are, as a result of an extra dry winter, we now have a wildfire season that has already started. The problem soon will be that there are not enough air tankers to help fight these fires once we hit some larger ones. The fires that they are fighting right now are all determined to be started by people, just like many of them are.

Doctor at rehab hospital put me on Novolog insulin. Supposed to inject ten units before meals. Did that. Had two big pieces of fried chicken with potatoes and greens and now having a crash? 60's descending into 50's? That's not right! Now I gotta eat more to get the sugar level back up! Not using that stuff again!.

Got a call from Home Health today saying that they had a problem. The doctor who ordered a wound vac for me is out of the country for three weeks so he can't sign off on the the prescription for it. I had an appointment with my primary care doc for a follow-up on April 30th but that's too long to wait. Called in and changed the appointment to the 17th (Thursday). That will enable my primary care doc to sign off on the prescription for the wound care vac for Home Health so they can get me that piece of equipment.

Got my blood sugar level back up and I'm not using the Novolog insulin again til I've discussed it with my doctor. That was too close!

Nothing else happening except watching a bunch of TV programs and keeping my weight off my left foot as much as possible. Still a lot of red meat showing so the dressing must be changed every day until the wound vac can be gotten and a suction dressing can be applied. That'll have to be changed every three to four days.

Time to call it a night. See y'all tomorrow.

Good morning. It's 39° with 94% humidity. The high will be 68° and sunny.

Got a great deal on a box of parts for the IIe's. Two memory expansion cards, several drive controllers, printer interface card, CP/m co-processor. All tested and working. Price: $30 total. No way was I passing that up.

Gotta change the dressing on my foot this morning. Other than that I won't be doing much. Probably just watch a bunch of TV programs, play with one of the //e's and rot my mind. I may spend some time looking for a couple of Digitrax 9-pin decoders for two of my repowered Varney F3A's. Maybe I can find a good deal.

Good Morning Blue
We have bright sun and 29 degrees.
Yesterdays snow is long gone.
I wish it would do that during the winter.
It won't be today but grocery shopping is on the to-do list before the weekend.
Maybe tomorrow.
No train news this morning.

Talk about an oxymoron, here is one for ya.
So I re-up my NRA dues on-line for another 3 years. So now my in-box is flooded everyday now with NRA give us more money e-mails.
To top it all off, I get a nice NRA (we are all about the good old USA and everything about it) baseball cap in the mail for the new dues. It is a nice black cap with gold NRA on the front and an American Flag on the back. So I look inside at the tag,,,,,,,,,,, MADE IN CHINA!!!! Makes me sick!!!! Curse

Oh boy, I just renewed as well with the promise of a small duffel bag. I still have one they sent me a while back, and you're 100% right, MADE IN CHINA. No flags, just the NRA logo, so I can expect this new one to be from there as well. And, FYI, the bag that they sent me before is now falling apart after very light-duty use. I would rather they not offer me anything, than to do this..... Curse Curse

Good evening Blue,

Been a while since I stopped at the camp fire ... time seems to have been running away from me recently! I guess getting back to work can do that Eek

Weather's been pretty good here in the UK, dry, sunny and reasonably warm for the last week or so Thumbsup

Despite the lack of time generally, I have managed to squeeze in a few hours modelling on the new N&W layout, I really must get around to posting some photos in my layout thread!

Cheers,

Kev

Went down to my fathers place to change the dressing on my foot since all the stuff to do it is there for the convenience of the Home Health nurse. I put my step mother to work as my assistant as she has some nursing experience. Working together we got the job done in about ten minutes.

Did some looking around online and found two DH126D decoders for $30 and picked them up. I figure they should be here Monday.
