Re: The traveling Grande Valley Railway (Onandaga Sub) - Catt - 01-01-2014 Well at least I can do a decent sidewalk. Thanks guys. Re: The traveling Grande Valley Railway (Onandaga Sub) - Catt - 01-04-2014 Took these pics at today's show, Last pic shows some construction detail. Here are a few pics of my partner in crime Bill Fowler's layout.Bill and I have been doing this show thing for about 20 years now. As you can see other than being N scale and the same size 32" x 48" we are quite different in our approach to layout style. One more commonality is the use of roadbed sectional track. In my case I used ATLAS and Bill used Bachmann for his. Re: The traveling Grande Valley Railway (Onandaga Sub) - faraway - 01-05-2014 The third photo from the top in the canyon gives an impression of a real long road between real huge industries. Something hard to do in 1:87. Re: The traveling Grande Valley Railway (Onandaga Sub) - sailormatlac - 01-05-2014 Yep, you really made this industrial layout looking right on such a small space and oval loop track. Playing with buildings to make a canyon was the wise choice! Good jog Catt! Matt Re: The traveling Grande Valley Railway (Onandaga Sub) - Tyson Rayles - 01-05-2014 Re: The traveling Grande Valley Railway (Onandaga Sub) - Catt - 01-20-2014 Newest building for the Onandaga Sub. This will be Blackmer Pump a company my friend Bill has worked for the last 35 + years. Re: The traveling Grande Valley Railway (Onandaga Sub) - Catt - 03-04-2014 Update on Onandaga Foods warehouse #1. Re: The traveling Grande Valley Railway (Onandaga Sub) - Tyson Rayles - 03-04-2014 I like it! Re: The traveling Grande Valley Railway (Onandaga Sub) - Rscott417 - 03-04-2014 You should make a track that will line up with both layouts so you can interchange with your friend Bill at shows and what not, just my 2 cents. Re: The traveling Grande Valley Railway (Onandaga Sub) - Rscott417 - 03-04-2014 Never mind just read it was N scale Re: The traveling Grande Valley Railway (Onandaga Sub) - Tyson Rayles - 03-05-2014 Rscott417 Wrote:Never mind just read it was N scale Shouldn't be a problem. If the Aussies could run a train cross country going thru 5 different gauges by simply jacking up the cars and slipping different trucks under em' at each gauge change Catt should have no trouble doing the same thing. Probably be the hit of the show in the process! I can see Model Railroader do a feature article on it. Re: The traveling Grande Valley Railway (Onandaga Sub) - Catt - 03-05-2014 Bill's layout will probably be 12 ' long ,not including the yard by the fall show season. I think I have created a monster. Onandaga may get a larger yard (8" x 36" now),thinking maybe 12" x 48" with more industry. Re: The traveling Grande Valley Railway (Onandaga Sub) - Catt - 03-10-2014 Got some more work done on Onandaga Foods,Got some paint ,windows, doors ,weather gaurds for the dock doors, and some stepos to get in and out of the building.Grew some vines on the only brick building on the layout. |
