A little bit more work on the second industry. The pillars got reinforced and the downspouts are inspired by the prototype. There are some impressive downspout installations in that area. I use them to camouflage some nasty cuts in the brick walls.
The concrete appears to brown on the photo. It is my standard gray concrete paint.

Thank you all for the friendly comments. There are more industry buildings to come (and I have to do more details and weathering too)

I made that statement on 3/27 and started with the freelance remodeling work on 4/12.
I used that two weeks to finally say goodbye to model after a prototype and to start with an almost new track plan to supporting my freelance idea.
Two weeks are a long time for an old man..... I was afraid to forget why I did a break Wink

Got two veeeeeery old Lifelike CN GP7 from ebay as a nice add-on for my new layout.
Cleanup of the grease (amazing how solid grease becomes after some decades), axis replacement (all split), DCC and LED installation went as usual. The old Lifelige Geeps are still a very smooth runner after an intensive care treatment.
It was fun to add some Canadian specific features like bell at the front (long hood!), scratch build spark arrestor (dimensions estimated from photos), all kind of winterization hatches, antenna on the cab and horn on the center of the long hood.

Love set of locos Reinhard! Really love them! Those old Life-Like are still among my favorite locos and my first "serious" buy when I was a teenager. And now, you will have the real pleasure to run a diesel loco in the RIGHT direction: long hood forward, which is probably the nearer a diesel can mimick a steam loco. Big Grin Anyway, you just reminded me I should complete my own pair real soon and add some sound in them for the club layout.

BTW, that "strange" brick factory is really looking good. I was skeptic at first, but you did a realistic job with the concrete structure and it paid off.

Well done improving your locos, Reinhard (now I know who to go to with my many loco queries Wink ).

I must say that your latest structure is fabulous and the finish outshines even the fabulous Kingmill offerings.

I shall continue to enjoy watching developments.

It is time to start the next industry/warehouse.
Some "City Classic, 103 Smallman St Warehouse Kit" and extension kits are used as a base. They provide raw walls at a style similar to Cornerstone Robert's Printing without the bells and whistles. Perfect material for kit bashing but it requires a lot of sanding due to lack of precision.

The buildings must not be bound to the background only
