Shapeways.com 3d printed details - nvrr49 - 05-01-2014 I designed these and had them printed at shapeways.com. More pictures and details can be seen at: <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://nvrr49.blogspot.com/2014/04/latest-shapeways-prints-ho-scale.html">http://nvrr49.blogspot.com/2014/04/late ... scale.html</a><!-- m --> Re: Shapeways.com 3d printed details - Kev1340 - 05-04-2014 Nice work Cheers, Kev Re: Shapeways.com 3d printed details - lajry - 05-05-2014 Here's images of HO LAJ & ATSF ALCO S-2/4 stacks that Shapeways thru David Cutting of Cutting Edge Scale Models is doing for me. No one does LAJ ALCO models but will use shells painted in Santa Fe blue & decal w/ Microscale ATSF white zebra stripe decals. Since the LAJ zebras are about 1/2 the size of the ATSF ones will use the N scale set (60-11611). The LAJ stacks are 3' tall including the base on the model.. None of the current Santa Fe ALCO models available have the correct stack. The Santa Fe stacks are rectangular & 3' tall. Re: Shapeways.com 3d printed details - nvrr49 - 10-18-2014 Here are some HO scale bath fixtures that I had printed at shapeways.com. More details can be seen at this link, along with some other items. http://nvrr49.blogspot.com/2014/10/shapeways-bath-fixtures-and-more-stuff-8.html Re: Shapeways.com 3d printed details - ScrewySqrl - 10-18-2014 impressive detail. Now, if you're putting your house on your layout, you should get them to be recursive and print out an HO-scale replica of yor layout Re: Shapeways.com 3d printed details - tomustang - 10-23-2014 Love the tooling! Re: Shapeways.com 3d printed details - nvrr49 - 07-12-2015 HO scale Chainsaws, 3d printed at Shapeways. Also available in O and S scale on Shapeways website. Re: Shapeways.com 3d printed details - nvrr49 - 09-06-2015 Here is a vintage tire shop I designed in HO scale. Most of the details were printed at Shapeways. More pictures and design and construction details can be seen at: http://nvrr49.blogspot.com/2015/09/tire-shop-187-scale-3d-printed-details.html Re: Shapeways.com 3d printed details - nvrr49 - 09-16-2015 I have designed the tools for a machine shop and printed them at Shapeways. These are HO, but they are available in S and O scale too. A few pictures are below, but there are over 15 tools. For more pictures and design details, see the blog links below. http://nvrr49.blogspot.com/2015/05/machine-shop-tools-3d-printed-metal.html http://nvrr49.blogspot.com/2015/05/machine-shop-tools-2-3d-printed-large.html http://nvrr49.blogspot.com/2015/05/machine-shop-tools-3-3d-printed-surface.html Re: Shapeways.com 3d printed details - Green_Elite_Cab - 09-16-2015 If only didn't cost $250 to print a passenger car body shell, then I might enjoy 3D printing a little more. The one thing i would like to make is replacement bushings for the new proto Amfleet cars. The metal ones kinda grind and slow the cars down, while I understand that the black or white strong and flexible is very slippery against metal axles (was was demonstrated on a 3D model with trucks printed in that material). Just gotta make a square with a hole in it, easy enough! Same here! And I need 10 cars! Matt Re: Shapeways.com 3d printed details - nvrr49 - 09-27-2015 Yes, the price on large highly detailed items can get our of hand rather quickly. For structures, a home FDM printer will work for many of them, but for cars and engines, one needs the detail available on a VERY expensive printer. I only use Shapeways for details and HO vehicles. Even the vehicles can get expensive, and I will be posting about several of them later this year. Here are some details I did at the request on Facebook, way too modern for my era of modeling. Jaws-of-Life in HO scale. I've been at that Shapeways store. Several times! As soon as I can afford it, I'm getting that "Tire Shop"... Fantastic, era-spanning equipment! Carmine, Owner, Creator, CEO & Bottle Washer... The Pacific Belt RR, in HO Scale Since 1975! Re: Shapeways.com 3d printed details - nvrr49 - 10-10-2015 I design this piano store diorama, and 3d printed the details. The pianos were printed at Shapeways, and the shelves along the wall were printed on a home printer.
