Good evening to all of you Blue members,wishing you all an enjoyable 4th July and Canada Day.
We had exceptional thunder and lightning storms across the UK last night,cooler this morning but turned out very nice 23c by miday.
As the weather is always an Englishmans number 1 topic we had plenty to go at!!
Still glad we dont get the extremes that you have,a dust storm here is when i havn't vacuumed for a week!! and 35c plus is just to much!! it never lasts for more than a day or three before the break comes,then we moan about the cold and wet.
loaded my car up this evening with my 4x1ft (it lives in the lounge on the top of my sideboard) Inglenook switching layout to take to the Northern Counties American Modelers bi-monthly meet ,so a day playing trains,eating egg and bacon rolls,drinking to much tea and coffee and chewing the fat.May spend some dosh too if something that i simply must have appears on the sales tables.Can you tell i am retired and seperated !!??

Good morning all. It was a quiet fourth for us, just a few neighbors shooting of fireworks. I wasn't aware that they changed the law and allowed fireworks in town. Up to now, they could, and do, sell fireworks all over the area, even in our town, but you had to go out of town to use them. Fireworks are dangerous in the wrong hands and in the wrong places.
We got two loads of stuff to the storage place and Packey is coming over later today so we can get some of the heavier stuff cleared out. My train room is now back to being a bedroom with my layout base being the bed frame. I guess you can call it a multi-tasker since it started life as a bed frame with short legs, before it was converted to my layout base with long ones. Once we move, it'll go back up for my layout since it still has 1" of extruded foam on it.

It's a hazy 73 degrees outside my window this morning. The haze is coming from the forest fires in Alaska. High for today is supposed to be about 85.
Just finished watching a very entertaining F1 race. Not much on tap for today. I need to start packing for a trip this weekend. Headed to Michigan to celebrate in-laws 70th wedding anniversary. So far over 80 people have responded for the party.

it's been a rough year. Lost a dear friend yesterday. When we moved here 35 years ago, she was here the next morning with a plate of cookies. One of my daughters said "our second Mom."

We are finally getting some summer weather.

Michigan changed their fireworks laws a few years back, many things are now legal to buy and shoot off.
Of course they did it to collect more tax money as most drove to Ohio to buy them. The old laws never stopped people from using them anyway.
I think today will be my usual lazy one.

Morning all. Big fireworks last night after late afternoon parade. Big cookout here. Hotdogs. We watch fireworks over the back fence as they are in the park across the field behind our house.

Good evening blues,been a good day,lovely sunny morning for my 8oc start 45min. drive to the village hall in North Yorkshire for our model group day.
Only had two egg and bacon rolls and four cups of tea!
Kept my hands in my pockets and resisted the sales tables!probably got more than enough already.
got home at 4oc,just started to unload the car when the rain came, an hour later a fresher feel to the air and 50/50 cloud,lovely evening.
Did my online repeat prescription,eye drops for Glaucoma and pills for blood pressure,getting older!!
Had a doze for an hour!! came round in time to watch the F1 highlights,good race.Now to cook a pizza for my dinner and settle down to watch two hours of railway programes on the TV,good day in all ,cheap too!!
Oh, does anyone know why the KD's that i checked and performed maintenance on last night and worked perfectly played up today?? AAGGHHH!!

Good Morning All!
I had a wonderful day railfaning yesterday from the comforts of my front porch and seen around 15 trains..The best thing about this type of railfaning you don't need to find a place to buy snacks or find a restroom. My next "front porch" railfan adventure will be a all nighter.
My plans for today is to add Hayes wheel stops to my industrial sidings,finish the SSRy Employee parking lot by the general office and maybe railfan this evening..
I shall have a cup or two and look over da forum.

Good morning all. Been busy moving things out to the storage locker, took four trips yesterday, mostly woodworking tools.Somehow I don't think I'll be working on any projects until we move. It's kind of sad to see my train room turned into a bedroom, but if that's what it takes to sell the house, than so be it...
A bit damp out right now, lots of thunder and lightning, very little rain. We seem to be the last to see any, and I guess the clouds run out of moisture before they get to us.
High temps today should be around 104, a bit below average and way below the record (117).

72 with rain showers off and on today.
So far this morning I've been to Menards, Advance Auto, and the gym. So far it's been a productive morning. After lunch I need to do some cleaning around here. The dust dinosaurs are demanding to be fed.
When I got back from the gym there was a message on the phone. Some upstanding young gentleman with barely understandable english wanted my wife to contact him about a recent law enforcement action that has been taken against her. Yeah, good luck with that fella.

One wants to build a modular layout for his own use and wanted ideas about how the Glancy modular was made along with suggested changes.
Rumor has it that Lionel is shipping but I don't know what is coming in.

Mostly cloudy and cool in the remote reaches of northern Iowa this morning. Right now it's 55 headed for a high of 72. Not very impressive for July.
Did some house-cleaning yesterday. A major part of that was cleaning my desk. Also ordered flowers for friend's funeral. Visitation tonight and funeral mass tomorrow morning. Also on the agenda for today is some shopping.
Frank - if I answer one of those calls I generally tell them to go back to watching porn on the internet.
