Re: The Hobo Camp Fire Is going well #VII.. Stop In!!! - FiatFan - 11-02-2016

Greetings, gang.

Cloudy and 50 headed for cloudy and 64 today.

A gorgeous day yesterday - sunny, 70 degrees, and light wind. Got the leaves cleaned up (again) and then started a fire and ran the Backyard & Southern for about 2 hours. A friend stopped by and we sat and compared notes for about an hour. He had lost his wife about 3 months after my wife passed away.

Nothing much on the agenda for today.

All stay safe.

Tom

We returned from one week in the sun Monday night. "We" is in that case me, my wife and my suitcase. You spot the problem. A wife without her suitcase is a big problem and the airline is simply doing nothing so far. Tells us just wait and see. I "wait and see" she "shouts and argues" (with me :o ).

Anyhow there is a nice tram running from Soller to Port de Soller on the Island of Mallorca.

Greetings, gang.

Sunny day in progress here in the remote reaches of northern Iowa. Right now it's 45 after an overnight low of 37. The high is supposed to be in the low 60s.

Not much accomplished yesterday. I did run the Afternoon Special on the Backyard & Southern for about an hour. Also had a fire in the pit. Made for a nice afternoon. Today I need to do some grocery shopping and pick up some other supplies at Menards.

All stay safe.

Tom

Good morning folks, a bit damp around here. It rained quite a bit yesterday, I knew it would since we just had the van washed two days ago, and no, we don't have room in the garage for it. I saw where we even made the national newscasts with our storm yesterday. The "Monsoon Season" is officially over, so now we no longer have, "Haboobs", but they are back to being "dust storms". Yeah, we had our big cloud of dust typical of what we get in the summer, just that we're half-way though fall by now and this one was a bit late. The even had a tornado warning up around I-40 to west of Flagstaff. Temps are back in the normal range, mid-80's, but they're looking to get up into the 90's in a few days.

Enough about the weather, just go have a great weekend... Thumbsup

Cooler and breezy. Dressed in camo. Off to hunting until tomorrow afternoon. Back for a anniversary thing for a minister. Have a good one.

Hello Blue
Just checking in.
Weather has been more than decent for this time of year.
Pain in the butt leaves from our neighbors tree.
Big train show this weekend. Not sure if I'll go. I have nothing on my want list.
S.J.

Greetings, gang.

Another sunny day is in progress outside my window this morning. Right now it's 41 headed for a remarkably warm 74.

Yesterday was pretty quiet for me. Today is uncertain. Thee is a small train show about 45 minutes away but with such nice weather I don't want to spend the morning cooped up in the car. May skip it for this year and just go outside and enjoy the nice weather while it lasts.

All stay safe.

Tom

Man, every time I hear of the death of a soldier, it gets me right in the pit of my stomach. It is Remembrance Day on November 11th in Canada. This is the most important day of the year for me as I have had many family and friends both in and out of the Military who's lives been affected by conflict. Whether it is international or domestic issue's, when will the hate cease?

On a brighter note, it has stopped raining for a while at least, here on the wet coast of Canuck land. October was about twice our normal rainfall and we had half our November average in the first three days of the month. Usually, when we get really warm wet October/Novembers, we get cool and clear December/Januarys. Although we still have a hard time getting down to freezing some years.

Got a call from my daughter on Friday night that my wife had wrecked her hand lunging a rather large horse at the barn and was driving herself home and I would have to take her to the hospital. When she got here, two of her fingers were sideways (middle/ring) on her right hand. So off to the hospital we went. We walked in and the triage nurse says "no need to tell me what's wrong come on in". She went right off to X-ray for some pic's and came back to her bed in the E.R. The Doctor came in and brought up the X-rays on the big screen and it was clear one finger was very broken, while the other was just badly dislocated. He froze her hand and put her back together and she went off to X-ray to make sure everything was in place. Once again upon her return to the E.R. the pic's were brought up and everything was where it should be. A cast was then applied that goes halfway up her forearm.

The doctor then booked her an appointment right there at her hospital bed, to see the Hand specialist in a couple of days for the follow up in his office. We asked for her to see a friend of ours that is the hand specialist for the Vancouver Canucks hockey team and he made the appointment. We were in and out of the hospital in 1Hr 50 mins! What a slick operation. Thumbsup Worship

I then had to go back and get my daughter when she had finished riding later that night. My wife was off to show her dogs at a show 90KMS away the next morning as well as today and tomorrow. What a woman. Worship

I have actually been getting things done on the layout in the past couple of weeks. Must be all the rain. 357

Positive thoughts and best wishes for all. Cheers

Brent

Morning all. Being lazy this AM. Did watch DVR'd things and got them out of DVR. Cooked breakfast [bologna, egg and cheese sandwich]. Washed my dishes. Getting ready to do Mayor stuff and County Commissioners late this afternoon/evening.

Brent, use to spend time in Perth. Some in Cowansville. French Canadian friend. We attended NCSU together. Sadly he died of cancer. Was a great buddy.

Have a good one.

Greetings, gang.

Sunny and 41 headed for sunny and 62. Looks to be another nice day. had some light showers last night.

Well, today is the big day for those of us in the US. We have the opportunity to express our collective opinion on who will be our next president. Without going into the relative merits of the candidates I, for one, will be glad so see the end of the campaign. It has been brutal.

All stay safe.

Tom

Morning all. Sunny and chilly. Finally got down into the upper 30's. Warming up fast with the sun.

Sad day for the US. No real good candidate for President. A crook/liar and a crazy person. Which is best?

Hope all have a great day.

Good morning all, from the beautiful sunny West coast of Canada.
I think today I will give the grass its final cut for the year and that will also vapourize the few remaning leaves that have fallen.
The kid got a call last night for a spot on an upcoming episode of "Once Upon A Time". He thinks he will turn it down as it is right in the middle of exams and he takes his education very seriously. It is too bad as pay is good for the actual amount of work involved. He enjoys doing it as well, but has zero ambitions as far as doing it for a living. They may see if they can work around his exams, they were flexable when they wanted him for X-Men, so we will see.
I think the whole world is holding its collective breath as far as the U.S. election is concerned. It makes one shake their head to think that out of a country of over three hundred million people, those two were the best that you could get to run for the office. 24 Of course that is often the case in most countries from time to time, including Canada.

Chief, sorry to hear about your friends unfortunate passing. Was he in the U.S. at University on a sports scholarship? We have a few friends that attend U.S. schools on sports scholarships. It is the only way they could afford to attend University in the U.S. My Daughter is going to go into medicine (Neurosurgeon) and my son wants a Law degree with a business minor. The tuition will be about $7,000.00 a year each. With scholarships even that will drop considerably. Like most 1st world countries Canada will hopefully get down to free tuition for post secondary education at some point.

Have a great day all. This is one day most of us will want to be done with. Cheers

Brent
