Re: Freelance 2015-1 - Catt - 05-10-2015 "I used water paint at the black loading dock cover. It looks ok on the layout but the closeup looks awful." I don't know Reinhard,it looks pretty natural to me.Oviously it has been there exposed to the weather for quite some time. Re: Freelance 2015-1 - faraway - 05-10-2015 The neighbor building has a similar loading dock. I weathered it with powder and dull coat prior to assembly. The more intense weathering of the other one one is ok but I do not like the brush strokes. Re: Freelance 2015-1 - shortliner - 05-10-2015 Reinhard, are those doors, decking plates, and door seals from a kit or separately available? Re: Freelance 2015-1 - faraway - 05-10-2015 shortliner Wrote:Reinhard, are those doors, decking plates, and door seals from a kit or separately available? They are from Cornerstone warehouse kits. Both structures are kit bashed Cornerstone kits. e.g. this two Cornerstone "Central Beverage Distributors" and "Modern Warehouse w/Trackside Loading Doors" Re: Freelance 2015-1 - Steve - 05-10-2015 faraway Wrote:The property is not in best shape. I hope we are not going to loose a valuable customer..... I don't know....I think the brush strokes on it look like scuffs and scrapes that you might see on a real one Everything is looking great on the layout! Re: Freelance 2015-1 - shortliner - 05-11-2015 Thanks Reinhard Re: Freelance 2015-1 - Brakie - 05-11-2015 Steve Wrote:I don't know....I think the brush strokes on it look like scuffs and scrapes that you might see on a real one I fully agree.. In fact one of my weathering techniques I used on my Walthers Bud's Trucking and Laustrom shipping (these are background kits) I left light brush strokes to vary the weather stains ,light rust and dirt. Re: Freelance 2015-1 - faraway - 05-14-2015 My brand new bare KFC. It is crying for parking lots, a drive thru window road etc. ..... Re: Freelance 2015-1 - faraway - 05-15-2015 We got the roads, the parking space and the sidewalk done today. Next will be green and some details Re: Freelance 2015-1 - Rscott417 - 05-15-2015 Looks really good, you should also try to build a big menu board with a speaker where the grayish car is so people can order then pull up to the window maybe even a low clearance bar across the drive thru so no vehicles hit the awning at the window similar to this http://viewpointsign.com/gallery2/main. ... alNumber=2 http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4137/482 ... e4ae79.jpg faraway Wrote: Re: Freelance 2015-1 - faraway - 05-16-2015 Rscott417 Wrote:..... a big menu board with a speaker where the grayish car ....I did that and some more details and green. Done in a freelance style Re: Freelance 2015-1 - torikoos - 05-19-2015 Looking great Reinhard. Is that the Woodland Scenics road making system you've used? I've tried it myself, and I just can't get the stuff to be smooth. I've always got un-even surfaces, airbubbles etc... Koos |
