WPF Week of 2/13-2/19 - eightyeightfan1 - 02-13-2015 Guess I'll start this weeks photo fun. My latest (G)normus scale acquisition. USA Trains GP38-2. This one is getting repainted. Haven't decided either to match my HO scale Southwhick & Winsted GP38, or one of Winchester and Western's. I'm pulling for W&W's #2184, which I got a cab ride in back last October. Re: WPF Week of 2/13-2/19 - faraway - 02-13-2015 Got six Intermountain MILW boxcars in the mail today. Used some time to tone the wheels and trucks down and "wash" the shells. They join the Fox Valley cabs ps. MILW, CR and BN are my three preferred operations scenarios used and exchanged frequently. Re: WPF Week of 2/13-2/19 - bdw9535 - 02-13-2015 Found this sitting down at the pier. Bruce Re: WPF Week of 2/13-2/19 - doctorwayne - 02-13-2015 Here are a few shots of a not-yet-finished DPM structure for the town of Elfrida: Wayne Re: WPF Week of 2/13-2/19 - cn nutbar - 02-14-2015 A couple of double-headed freights heading west towards Hamtown on the Grimsby Sub Re: WPF Week of 2/13-2/19 - Chuck - 02-15-2015 Here is a shot of the "Shiawassee River Gorge" bridge on the Lansing Model RR Club. It was scratch-built many, many years ago by a member. It will soon be gone due to numerous "earthquakes" (hip bumps) through the years that have severely damaged it. Plan are underway to replace the bridge and scenery around it. Meanwhile, local railfans are happy about a recent agreement between the Kings Port & Western and the Baltimore & Ohio that will have two B&O trains a week using KP&W tracks to reach Williams Yard in Kings Port. Trains will likely be headed by this aging pair of F7's in the classic scheme. Does anyone know if this livery had a particular name? Re: WPF Week of 2/13-2/19 - doctorwayne - 02-15-2015 A quick search didn't reveal a name, but it did confirm my suspicion that it's loosely based on the blue & grey of a fracas in an earlier era. There's a little bit of info HERE. Wayne Re: WPF Week of 2/13-2/19 - Ralph - 02-15-2015 Thanks Wayne! That was interesting! Re: WPF Week of 2/13-2/19 - Catt - 02-15-2015 My Grande Valley Railway Road Mate and power unit a GP38-3 on a grain transfer. Did this unit 2 years ago and never noticed till I took this pic I never finished the paint and numbers on it.GP38-3 is an original ATLAS/KATO unit that was painted in 1994.The RoadMate is a ATLAS Classic I did two years ago. The building in the back ground is a exact sized scale model (before the addition) of Williams Form the company I retired from in 2008 after 30 years. Re: WPF Week of 2/13-2/19 - cn nutbar - 02-15-2015 Another bridge scene as a double-headed coal drag heads east over the Desjardins Canal bridge Re: WPF Week of 2/13-2/19 - cn nutbar - 02-17-2015 I hope I'm not taking advantage by posting another shot but the rail-fanning action on the Grimsby sub has been a much better alternative to the live action at Bayview Junction especially during the recent frigid cold spell. Here's a couple of photos of some of the passenger trains that are seen on a regular basis at Beeton. Charlie Re: WPF Week of 2/13-2/19 - nachoman - 02-21-2015 Wayne, that is really nice work on that structure Re: WPF Week of 2/13-2/19 - doctorwayne - 02-21-2015 Thanks, Kevin. Once my brother makes a sign for it and a few other background structures (some of which still need painting), I should be able to "finish" the town of Elfrida, which will "complete" the lower part of the layout. Like all layouts, though, it'll need more details and there's always the chance that some things will be re-worked, too. Wayne |
