morten1996's Get off yer duff Challenge (Part I) - morten1996 - 02-12-2017 After almost a year I picked up my PPU #200 again. Due to its ugly start and the tedious job of several loops of laminating and sanding I lost my motivation for a few months The rough basic sub-assamble of the shell Well, back in December 2016 I continued with the project Currently I'm painting tthe unit - trying to get slightly different shades of black for the frame and the shell. A picture of the prototype (only one produced ever): http://donsdepot.donrossgroup.net/dr0702/ppu200.jpg Regards Norman Re: morten1996's Get off yer duff Challenge (Part I) - faraway - 02-12-2017 The second and third photo are really a big surprise after looking at the first one. A giant step forward! A giant step forward! I'll say!! What a transformation and what a unique locomotive, too. What scale is this one, Norman? By the way, to the Challenge! Wayne Re: morten1996's Get off yer duff Challenge (Part I) - morten1996 - 02-12-2017 Thanks for your comments, Reinhard & Wayne. PPU #200 (as GM&O #1900) is in 1/29 scale - due to moderately priced locmotives & cars in this scale Regards Norman Re: morten1996's Get off yer duff Challenge (Part I) - morten1996 - 02-19-2017 Finally found the appropiate color - a slightly light black - for the shell; currently gloss for application of decals. Now I have to design PPU's herald and to look for lettering. finally the silver lining arounf the front grills will be applied Regards Norman Re: morten1996's Get off yer duff Challenge (Part I) - Schraddel - 02-20-2017 Norman, speechless Cheers Lutz Re: morten1996's Get off yer duff Challenge (Part I) - morten1996 - 06-06-2017 After a long time some progress to show Now decals for the white lettering have to be designed & printed Regards Norman Re: morten1996's Get off yer duff Challenge (Part I) - doctorwayne - 06-06-2017 Truly great looking results, Norman.
