morten1996's Get off yer duff Challenge (Part I) - morten1996 - 02-12-2017

After almost a year I picked up my PPU #200 again.

Due to its ugly start and the tedious job of several loops of laminating and sanding I lost my motivation for a few months

The rough basic sub-assamble of the shell

Well, back in December 2016 I continued with the project

Currently I'm painting tthe unit - trying to get slightly different shades of black for the frame and the shell.

A picture of the prototype (only one produced ever):

The second and third photo are really a big surprise after looking at the first one. A giant step forward!

I'll say!! What a transformation and what a unique locomotive, too. What scale is this one, Norman?

By the way, Welcome to the Challenge! Goldth

Thanks for your comments, Reinhard & Wayne.

PPU #200 (as GM&O #1900) is in 1/29 scale - due to moderately priced locmotives & cars in this scale

Finally found the appropiate color - a slightly light black - for the shell; currently gloss for application of decals. Now I have to design PPU's herald and to look for lettering. finally the silver lining arounf the front grills will be applied

Now decals for the white lettering have to be designed & printed
