RE: My Hometown---Part 4 - cn nutbar - 01-22-2020 I received a heads up from a local railfan who informed me that SOO GP38-2 #4410 was in the consist of CP 246 heading east through Kinnear Yard.Apparently this is the last locomotive sporting the old SOO livery.Bruce and Wayne---we spotted this unit at Ayr on our last rail-fanning adventure. Charlie RE: My Hometown---Part 4 - cn nutbar - 03-20-2020 Hi Charlie---all my recent photos have been taken at familiar locations---CP Kinnear Yard,CN Stuart Yard and Bayview/Laking Garden bridge.Kinnear is a little more accessible as some of the trees have been removed on the south side of the tracks and also there has been some on-going track construction around Bayview Junction.Be nice to get together again one of these days to do some local rail-fanning. RE: My Hometown---Part 4 - BR60103 - 03-20-2020 Charlie: Maybe you were asking ... 1501 is a track geometry car. Started as CNR D108 in 1958, then became 6108. I had a bit of a search in the Trackside Guide. I love checking the Added pics to this thread RE: My Hometown---Part 4 - doctorwayne - 03-21-2020 Thanks for the info on the track geometry car, David. I was puzzled about what its use might be, especially with the blanked-out windows. Wayne RE: My Hometown---Part 4 - cn nutbar - 03-25-2020 I grew up on Victoria Ave. in my hometown of Hamilton Ontario and as a young boy would spend many hours watching Canadian National trains along this very spot---if I use my imagination I can still see steam locomotives in place of today's power.
