RE: The Hobo Camp Fire Is going well #VIII.. Stop In!!! - ezdays - 10-28-2018

Good afternoon all. Just a one night stay in the hospital and I'm back home. I really have to rest, but that's hard to do with having to tend to Ms. Daz... Just another "procedure" due in two weeks in the Dr's office. I really appreciate your concerns and prayers. I'm sure they're helping.

Talk about snow, we've had our share up in the northern part of the state. Lots of rain down this way. Beautiful rain about two weeks ago, 2.5" of it, but all I could do was watch it hit the rooftops and parking lot from my hospital room.

And welcome back Pennman, yes, things have been a bit slow lately, don't know of it's a trend all over or what, maybe social media is eroding participation. Sorry about the coffee cups, glad you found one to use. They were in a box when we moved to the new server, and somehow, that box went astray.... Eek

Morning.  Had specialist appointment early.  Keep on taking chemo tabs every Saturday night.  All is well.  Working great.

Friend Fred has Diverticulitis and is O/A.  Wifey and Dr. do not want me hunting down east by myself.  Icon_rolleyes   Guess I will stay here and do chores.  Eek  Other partner is not allowed to go hunting until Dec. 1.  His wifey will not allow.  Just retired and no health ins. for a month.  How crazy.

DAZ, still prayers.

Oh Tom, where art though???

Later.

Evening gentleman, nice day out here in TN, got some more prep work done on the layout, spent most of the day in Nashville at the doctors office. Came home to try and fit my cabinets for the layout and need to take a 1/2 Inch off all of them go figure. Oh well

Good morning all! pull up and get some coffee everyone pots fresh, strong and hot! Busy day need to get all the last minute stuff done car loaded back up and head back to work. Dam long drive up to Altoona, hate the first day back to work. Almost got done what I wanted on the layout, ran into a few snags, will have to figure it out over Thanksgiving week.   Well you all have a fun day, Looks like Kids are going to get wet over Halloween this year.

Greetings, gang.

Cloudy and 45 in the remote reaches of northern Iowa this morning. High for today is supposed to be in the mid to upper 50s. Weather for the week is supposed to be typical fall weather - highs in the 50s and lows in the 40s.

On the way home yesterday I had to stop in Omaha twice. First was to deliver a raffle prize from the train show over the weekend. Very nice retired gentleman who had a mid-sized layout but had 2200 cars and "a couple hundred engines." He must rotate them on and off the layout frequently. Then I had some fun time with my granddaughter and the two kids she still has at home. The other two were still in school. After a physically challenging evening Sunday I was ready to be home. Sunday evening after the train show we had to clean the auditorium. This including taking down and loading 59 "church tables." Many were plastic but some were the old wood/masonite tables that are very heavy.

Today will be another busy day around here. First up will be a conference call with younger daughter, making initial plans for the trip to Lake Placid in March. Also need to hit the grocery store and this afternoon I'll be starting on the next leaf roundup. Lots of leaves on the ground.

Pennman - when I was working I always said one should only have to work a half day on your first day back after a vacation.

Frank - probably a good idea not hunting alone. Prayers for your friend.

Don - if you keep having surgeries you're going to need those metal bolts on your neck like a certain well-known creature.

All stay safe.

Tom

Morning.  Goofing off.  Lots of coffee this AM.  Guess not going hunting.  This is usually my not too busy week as the week has the first of the month in it.  All regular meetings are over.  Just anything added and I agreed too.  Why I usually hunt some during this week during season.  Fred is doing pretty good.

Penn, thanks for the fresh coffee.

Tom, you need to rest up.

DAZ, prayers.

The snow was gone after two hours and the temperature is around 40°. It is really nasty fall weather, windy, rainy and dark.

But no reason to complain. The European weather is very unusual this fall. We had far above temperatures and very few rain in central Europe while south Europe and the Mediterranean area suffers from heavy rain, flooding, low temperatures and snow in north west Spain.

Happy Halloween, gang.

It's a partly cloudy 35 outside my window this morning. High for today is supposed to be in the mid 50s with light winds. Good day for leaf herding.

Tried to rake leaves yesterday but it was too windy. I'll be working on that today. Talked to daughter yesterday. Turns out due to changing circumstances she will not be here for Thanksgiving. Guess I'll have to mooch off my other daughter or my grandson. Grandson though could be iffy as his wife is due the week after Thanksgiving. Found out that my neighbors moved out on Monday. I had known they were moving but had been told that it was Tuesday. I have now lived in this neighborhood longer than anyone around me. Seems like just last week we moved in.

I also found out yesterday that one of my sons may be in Vermont when I go to Lake Placid nest year. He's only supposed to be about a hundred miles away. If he's not there he'll likely be in Mississippi.

All stay safe.

Tom

RE: The Hobo Camp Fire Is going well #VIII.. Stop In!!! - ezdays - 10-31-2018

Good morning and a Happy Halloween to you all. Thanks again for all the prayers and concerns. I'm resting a whole lot, sleeping when I don't normally sleep. Slept for 12 hours one night, but still have a ways to go.

We had two shootouts the other night, a total of five officers were wounded, all doing OK, two purps are no longer with us however. Why anyone would try to shoot it out with armed officers is beyond comprehension. The media is questioning why would they stop of fleeing vehicle on a crowded freeway and enter into a shootout..... That's an easy answer, because they saved lives at the risk of their own. Worship

I'm still checking in occasionally, I'll start posting more often when I can....

Greetings, gang.

Sunny and 30 this morning in the remote reaches of northern Iowa. High for today is supposed to be a sunny 57 with only light winds.

Got the leaves rounded up and bagged yesterday. This morning I'll be hauling them off to the disposal site. Also need to get the oil changed and put the storm windows on the front porch. Once the windows are in I'll be able to sit on the front porch with the aid of a small space heater until the temperatures hit the upper 40s.

Frank - that's no longer an option. parted ways with lady friend a few weeks ago. Too clingy. Kept wanting me to move there.

All stay safe.

Tom

RE: The Hobo Camp Fire Is going well #VIII.. Stop In!!! - ezdays - 11-02-2018

Good morning all. Feeling a bit better each day, just have no energy to do normal things but I guess we all have to expect something like that when we get as old as I am. Icon_rolleyes

Tom, you show that you can't be pushed into something that you would probably regret doing. Sorry to hear about the breakup, but I'm sure you did the right thing.

Temps here are getting downright cold. Well, early in the day with lows in the low 50's, highs around 80 through the coming week. Yeah, we still have had to kick on the A/C for a short while a few times, just to clear the air.

RE: The Hobo Camp Fire Is going well #VIII.. Stop In!!! - Chief Eagles - 11-02-2018

Morning.  Rainy and warm.  Slept till 9.  Icon_e_surprised   Must have been real tired.  Only woke up one time during the night.  Wiley got up next to me and wiggled.  Was too warm so turned on ceiling fan.

Tom will find another "friend".  No worry there.

DAZ, get better.

No hunting until tomorrow.

Hope all have a good one.
