Another nice slug!  2 in a couple weeks might be a sign that I have to procure one....

Todd, the GP9b units had prime movers and actually had a control stand inside so the hostlers could move them. They were stand alone power, no other locomotive supplied electric to their traction motors. A slug has no  prime mover.

Good stuff. Thanks for the education!  B-units, slugs - both are worthy for future consideration.

The newest loco on the property (a patched GP39-2 (former Reading - the last locos the RR bought new)) is about to enter the Rockport tunnel from the south.

Something different---this photo was taken in my hometown in 1953 by Reg Button. This triple headed steam powered freight is heading south up the Niagara escarpment towards Hagersville---it's quite possible my late father was working on one of those locomotives.I tried to recreate a similiar scene on the Leetown Division.

RE: SIDE SHOT SATURDAY - TMo - 12-31-2022

Going back, back, back in time this week.  2009 to be exact.  My first D&H locomotives pull through the southern Rockport tunnel portal onto a field of pink!  You can see where I've planned out the river banks.  My layout was 5 years old at the time and my time was divided between multiple people and things.  My kids were 15 and 12 at the time. As we head into 2023, I reflect on what was, what is, and what's left to be done.
