Yeah, The base is a Playschool brand and I cant remove the couplers
Most of our layout is Euro, so I'll just switch one of the couplers on the cars.

I have progressed a bit more with this build.
I now have a large LED Headlight and 2 small red LED's in the rear.
Here is the front

I will box in the LED later.

It took about 2 hours to cut, glue and attach the skirt shown here.

A little better view of the roof. This will all be filled with 1/2" X 1/8" strip wood as shown to the left of the stack.

All finished except for the Engineer.
This is the last of the roof boards being glued in.

It now has 2 9V batteries for the steam generator and 2 AA batteries for the LED Lighting.

Just an update, the engine is finished, just waiting for a small 12V fan to help the smoke come up out of the stack.
Here is what it looks like from the front:

RE: Building a New Engine - ngauger - 10-17-2019

The wide opening behind the front wall is the air inlet where I'll mount the fan for the smoke.
If I remember to take video, I'll post it running.

I think I've got motion sickness...either that or around-the-curves whiplash.
