Never ever liked Denny's. Got real sick from a breakfast there, that ended it for me.

Thunder and pouring rain. .7 inches and number rising in gauge fast. Finn [golden doodle] upset.
Heart Dr. is great. She has given me instructions on gaining weight. Stop force feeding at a meal time. Only eat small portions. Eat lots of small meals of junk food. BTW: heart is OK.
Chemo tomorrow so long day.
Got paid today [retirement]. Now pay bills.

hi all . been some time since i posted have had a run of problems with eyes seem a bit better now have been able to do a bit of model work , been having problems with yea old prostrate cant do much about it till I get off the high powered blood thinner I'm on except to self-cath undefined . frank keep up the fight , tom hope your wife is better.

Good morning folks
Even though it is only 74 you can feel the humidity building already at 8 AM. High will be 90.
I did some chores around the house like laundry and watering the gardens in the morning. I made a run to CVS, the grocery store, and Michael's. As usual I did not find what I was looking for at Michael's.
I finished the passenger platforms. Next is weathering. I opened the Union Station kit. I did a couple of trials to find the best color for the mortar.
I have to take my son to work in a few minutes.

Good morning good friends, another scorcher in store for today, 112, one degree shy of the record for today. By Tuesday, we're going to be back down into the low 90's. I remember a very long time ago when people thought extreme temperature changes could, "make you sick". Yeah, sick of the changes maybe. We're just a few weeks away from Fall, we need to see some leaves falling...
Good to see you stop by Jim, we wish you the best and glad to see you're able to get some modeling in.
Went to a different place for breakfast yesterday, did not feel comfortable there even though four out of the five that were there used to be at Brenda's. Going back to Brenda's this morning, just because. But, if the new owner doesn't seem to care about her customers, we give it little hope.
Today is a free day, no appointments. Progress is slow on my layout, but I am able to work more on Tower Hill. Just waiting for my Trainmaster order to arrive, USPS says delivery to my post office box on Saturday, sometime before 9:00PM. Yup, need to stand in line at the Post Office Saturday night so I'll be the first in line on Monday when they open.

Greetings, gang.
Cloudy and 70 at the moment with a predicted high near 90 again. Humidity levels are through the roof. 70% chance for heavy (2-3 inch) rains this evening. Sunrise this morning was very orange.
Yesterday did not go to plan. Started swimming laps and had something irritate my eye. Gave up after 6 laps (normal is 18 laps). About 11 I tried buying a new Xbox from Walmart. Because of the popularity and scarcity of them Walmart put in an extra hoop to jump through. By the time I had that figured out they were gone again. At least I'll be ready for next time.
I've been fortunate for two years in a row now. No acorns dropping from my two big oak trees. In years past I've taken as much as a couple hundred pounds of acorns to the yard waste disposal. Fall is approaching as the tree in the back yard is already dropping leaves. It's always the first to drop leaves in the fall and the last to get leaves in the spring.
Tom - hope your wife is feeling better today.
Frank - glad to hear you're doing well. I know first hand (twice) how hard it is to keep the weight.
Prayers for those in need especially those struggling in Afghanistan.

Good morning, here we are at another Friday, the next one will be in September, kind of hard to believe that we're that far into 2021. Seems like it was just a few months ago that we were dealing with the Y2K thingy. It's also hard to believe that there's a good portion of the world that has no idea what that means.
They dropped today's forecast down to 111, doesn't matter, it's going to be hot. Have a friend that was going up to Laughlin, Nevada for some R&R until he realized the forecast for there is 115. Most folks around here head up to Las Vegas to gamble, stuff themselves and catch a show, but Laughlin is a bit closer and not as crowded. Of course, they just allowed more table games at the Indian casinos here in Arizona and we have a bunch of them around, all on reservation land. There was a large plot of land near the football stadium that was bought by one of our Indian tribes. They declared it reservation land and built a casino on it. The other tribes sued them, but they won and now we have a full-blown casino right in the city. Go watch a football game, then get shuttled over to lose anything to you might have won betting on the game, which is now legal in Arizona as well.
Frank, good to hear that things are going in the right direction for you, keep it up. Prayers for you and all others in need.

Cloudy and 70 outside my window this morning. High for today is supposed to be in the upper 80s. That was also the predicted high for yesterday and our friends at the NWS were spot on as usual. Except - it struggled to get out of the 70s. Briefly hit 80 late in the afternoon then dropped right back. Got about a half inch of rain yesterday morning with lots of thunder and lightning but the 70% chance of 2-3 inches last night? Not a drop. More chances for rain off and on over the next several days.
Yesterday was pretty quiet. I did managed to get in a nice hour long walk in the rain. This morning is swimming but not much else planned.

Good afternoon folks
It is 88 at this time heading up to 91. We are under a Flash Flood Watch as there are supposed to be storms later today.
I did some household chores yesterday. After I was done I weathered two of the passenger station platforms. I have two more to go.
in a couple of hours I have to take the wife over to the hospital. She has another round of preadmission testing in preparation for her surgery next week.
After calling the cardiologist office yesterday and explaining the urgency that her sleep apnea gets treated sooner than later the office was able to persuade the pulmonary specialist to move her appointment from September 17th to the 1st. Hopefully this will mean she has a C-Pac or something similar with the next two weeks.
Frank glad to see things getting better.

Tom make Shure if she gets a Philips that its not one of the ones that are on recall , i had to get a special filter for my dream station because of the possibility of foam breaking down and entering air ways .

There are a few diners and restaurants near us. The diners, being smaller... the owners always seem to be around somewhere. At one diner, you order your drinks from the waitress and if you are a regular customer The Owner brings out your drinks and chats for a bit even if he only askes how we are doing.
The other diner, the owners are always around either seating you or taking your money when you leave. They always chat with you if they aren't too busy, that is.
The bigger places, including Denny's and Cracker Barrel, we see the managers busing tables, chatting with people as they make their hourly rounds and it's a great thing.
Don -- Has anyone approached the new owner of Brenda's? Maybe he needs a bit of coaxing to get to know the regulars.

I am aware of the recall. My Phillips is one of them also. I just got an email from Phillips saying it could take up to year to replace it. I spoke with my supplier. They checked it out and since I did not ever use an ozone cleaner with the unit I am able to use it.
