FWIW, the East Penn Traction Club Standards, both HO and O scales, predate the N scale standards by about 5 years as they came into being in 1969, so they are actually the granddaddy of modular standards.

One of the guys (Railway Bob) at our local modular club (<!-- w --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.hotrak.ca">www.hotrak.ca</a><!-- w -->) has started a blog with an illustrated step-by-step on how to build modules. The blog follows the progress of a pair of modules built to HOTrak standards, but can be adapted to meet any modular/domino/sectional layout that must be regularly transported.

Railway Bob is also a member (although infrequent poster) here at Big Blue.

Does anyone know of a HO scale modular club in or around central NY. I live near Utica. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
Doing my best to stay on track and to live each day to it's fullest, trying not to upset people along the way. I have no enemies.....just friends who don't understand my point of view.

Can't help with that specific question - maybe the NMRA club listing has something?

But <!-- w --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.hotrak.ca">www.hotrak.ca</a><!-- w --> in Ottawa is less than 4 hours. While I am not suggesting that you come for every weekend set-up, the annual "Rally" in January would be worth the trip.

NMRA-BR (British Region) 'standards' are here:

Hopefully we'll see more and more UK (and perhaps european) modellers adopt these for larger and larger gatherings around the UK, also see this thread : <!-- l --><a class="postlink-local" href="http://www.the-gauge.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=6482">viewtopic.php?f=17&t=6482</a><!-- l -->

For those of you in the Lake County Illinois area,
Lake County society of Modular Engineers.
Module specifications can be obtained through Ron's Mundelein Hobbies, or I can scan and print a set.
We are at Trainfest every year, and there are occasional Mall shows that we attend, for a weekend of fun.
We always learn far more from our own mistakes, than we will ever learn from another's advice.
The greatest place to live life, is on the sharp leading edge of a learning curve.
Lead me not into temptation.....I can find it myself!
