AAR M500 observation car, ACF build wanted
#1
hi all,

for my project to build the CFNR business car Appekunny Mountain, I'm looking for a HO model of a AAR M500 smooth sided observation car, build by ACF. Rivarossi allegedly made one in HO, and perhaps others have. Road name not important, as it's going to be re-painted anyway, relatively accurate dimensions and appearance are however.
Here it is BEFORE it got 'saved' by the California Northern. http://www.railpictures.net/viewphoto.p ... 160&nseq=2 but at least you know what type of car I'm looking for.
I've got nothing to swap, but I'm willing to pay a reasonable price for it, but I've got no money for brass offerings... let that be an indication of my budget :-)

Thanks, Koos

Does no one have one, or just not want to part with it? Do I have to buy a new car, and cut it up etc after all, or am I going to scratch build... That's going to be tricky..

I wish I could help you, Koos, but I have nothing later that '30's heavyweights.

I can feel your pain, though! I do think you will probably end up cutting and, well, kit-scratch-bashing the car you want.
