On the shelves under the layout at St Mary Ax station.

And there's a few more shelves around the room.

In model railroading, there are between six and two hundred ways of performing a given task.
Most modellers can get two of them to work.

I'm a bit in awe of your collection!

I got two more to add now,

"the Men who Loved Trains". Kinda surprised i don't have it, apparently its related to conrail and the state of railroads at that time.

I also (after ironically discussing it with RO) found a copy of the book "Trains Trolley's and Transit" which discusses Philadelphia area passenger rail operations. Didn't find another copy though.

What books I have, cover B&O, C&O, N&W, C&NW, Clinchfield, SP&S, D&H, Long Island, Caspar Lumber Co., Sumpter Valley Railway, "Narrow Gauge". Then there's the Locomotive 'cyclopedias, and a few generic model railroad, and steam locomotive books. I have about twice as many books on sailing ships, and maritime "working" boats and ships, mostly East coast, from the Maine fishing boats and "Coasters" to the Chesapeake Bay fishing boats, and schooners. There's also around fifty years of MR, and RMC, with a few Model Trains thrown in for "old times sake".
There are enough of them, that I wouldn't want to try to move them out of the house in less than three days ( it's an age thing,.... mine ) Big Grin

LOL, that's my my family thinks i'm odd when it comes to enjoying railroads. they've been into ships forever (in fact the family business is rebuilding engines and parts for tug boats and things out of New York City). there is a lot of interesting stuff populating the boat grave yard just north of where i work in Staten island, NY. I might have to look into your books, my grandpa expressed interest in finding pictures of particular boats we've made parts for, and i can tell its gonna be a big research project.

BiL: That's just the bit where the RR books are concentrated. There are about 7 more sections like that with other books plus a section of LPs and non-RR bookshelves on 3 more floors of the house.
And 16 feet of crawl space lined both sides with magazines.

And railohio's got an extremely full library as well ... maybe more than several of us put together!

Between all the books owned by members of this forum, we should be able to look almost ANYTHING up!

That was actually my alterior motive for making this thread, just to see what other good books might be out there. especially with these railroad books, who may have been made by some unknown publisher 30 years ago but are LOADED with everything you want to know.
