Livingston Model Railroad Club
#1
Here's a look at trains running along part of the main line at the Livingston Model Railroad Club located in the basement of the old Northern Pacific depot in Livingston, MT. The depot is now a railroad museum and the club is considered part of the museum and we pay no rent or utilities, but are open to the public during operating sessions.

I apologize for how jerky the video is. I believe that it may have something to do with the video editing program as the original video is smooth. The video does start part way through so please go to the beginning.

Nice layout, Chet, and other than a few cameraman-shakies, the video was smooth, as were the running trains.  If I happen to wander out that way, I'd definitely call ahead to see if it's possible to stop in and see it in-person.

The layout is open to the public during operating sessions. During the summer it is open from 1 PM until 4 PM and on Saturdays year round from 7 to 9 PM. We could possibly work something out. For me it is a 50 mile trip one way over Bozeman Pass to get to the club. I don't care to drive the pass at night especially in the winter when the pass can be snow covered (or worse).

It's a bit further for me, about 1750 miles.  If I were to  drive out to visit a friend in British Columbia, though, just over 2300 miles, it wouldn't be all that much of a detour.

No detour at all as Livingston is right along Interestate 90. The Montana Rail Link shops are also right there in Livingston, the old Northern Pacific shops and there is usually a lot of helper action in and out of the yard there.
