Yes so far it is good. Even had a damage issue that was resolved easily with no pain. It was even played into the photo record of the trip.

First test run is complete. As far as I am concerned the only issue is postage which was mentioned. Should it be a set way of sending, open to who is sending or set by owner? jwb and I sent cars to each other. His postage was $9 and some change mine was $2 and change. Both were basically coast to coast U.S.A. He returned my car the same way he shipped his. I returned his the same way he sent it to me.
I packed mine in an Athearn box with some small pieces of foam in it for protection and sent it regular mail.
jwb packed his in car box with some paper towels in it. Then placed that in a larger box with packing material. He mailed it I think Parcel Post with tracking. jwb please correct me if I am wrong on this.
I just received my car in one piece and hope that he will receive his today or tomorrow in the same condition. Where do we go from here? There will be more cars going around in the next few days. If you haven't been following it check it out at " Shipping" viewtopic.php?f=3&t=5468

Yes, I'd say it worked well. The postage costs are a little puzzling, though -- Les is right, there are big differences. I sent two parcels out last week without the tracking, and I think they averaged out to maybe $4.75 per parcel, though why there was a difference (there was) is puzzling, too. Maybe with experience we'll figure out the best way to do it.

It's a fair amount of effort to get the layout in shape, come up with paperwork, run a train, take photos, post, pack the car again, and ship it back, but I think the effort pays off, and I hope other guys will start to participate.

Well getting layout in shape is a plus. It is putting a fire under your derriere to do what needed to be done. Postage is an issue. $2 is workable $9 won't work with me. Paper work is part of it and will get easier. I am still in. packing is going to get easier as things move along as the same boxes can be used over with all the packaging. So if you think you might be interested jump in you can always jump out. Go ahead give it a try post your shippers and let me order something.

I wanted to let everyone not only the participants know. I am slow moving in this because of some things that have been going on the last few months. With out going into details it has been health issues in my family. All is going well but very time consuming. Hopefully things are settling down and I will soon be getting in the swing of things. Also I decided to make some changes in my layout in the middle of all of this Icon_lol . I never claimed to be very smart. So bear with me I do like this and enjoy participating in it and will repeat myself. Try it you you'll like it. if not just quite

It is pretty up front. If you order from one of my businesses I might be slow but will get to it. If you post a business that I can order from the round trip might be slow but will happen.
