Classic movie I once saw some times ago. Looks like I miss the part when they move by hand boxcars... Really impressive.

Some more progress on the feedmill. I'll paint the structure before I glue down the corrugated roofing. It will make painting easier.

Thanks Andy, the final color will be a very light gray. But yes, it would have been quite attractive in yellow!

I build a companion shed for the feedmill using the Walther's wooden grain elevator upper housing. Windows were salvaged from the gable to add more openings in the front wall. If it doesn't fit the available space, it will become an employees shed at Donohue since there was a few ones standing near the tracks.

And some progress on the layout.

The Shinohara curved turnout is being replaced with a custom handbuilt one.

The small shed is progressing. I only need to replace the roofing material with something more suitable and touch up the weathering a little bit.

And two Roundhouse CN grain boxcars getting new details including ladder replacement and many other improvement. The CN wet noodle logo was wrong, so I "erased" it by wet sanding it with the help of Solvaset. It makes wonder and with a light coat of matching paint, you almost can't see there was a logo there before.

Very nice. The new addition to the feed mill is outstanding. The layout is coming along. Can you send me some ambition? Cheers

Thanks Charlie! Some ambition? Your layout is quite ambitious! ;-)

I completed the feedmill, put it on the layout and painted some dark granit plaster rocks. The scenery is slowly but surely starting to look like something, and more like Charlevoix than I envisionned, which is good!

I enlarged the team track access for longer cars.

I'm not sure how many loads per day your feed mill handles, but I'm puzzled by the very short, one-car loading track. Seems like a lot of switching onto one of the mains will be required to load even a bare handful of cars. :?:

The feed mill I run had only a one car spur, It was taken out in 1989. It was used for ingredients in and nothing out. Every thing was done by hand, It would take three guy's almost a week to unload it.

This is exactly what happened with the prototype I'm modelling. The track was very short and they received one car at a time and not often. They shipped nothing out. It really was a small time co-op and rail service ended by the late 1980s.

Huge progress on scenery in Clermont (again) recently. Mainly ballast, some trees, grass and vegetation. Still a long way to go but it start to look like something.
