Retail/Wholesale Lumberyards & Lumber Distributors with rail
#1
G'day all, while following up the internet maps on the post:
<!-- l --><a class="postlink-local" href="http://www.the-gauge.net/forum/posting.php?mode=quote&f=46&p=106914">posting.php?mode=quote&f=46&p=106914</a><!-- l -->
I explored around a bit came across Noffke Lumber in
Lush Street, Menasha, Wisconsin
which is an excellent small retail lumber yard/hardware with a rail siding.
Paste the latitude/longitude (?) co-ordinates:
44.201046,-88.456697
directly into BING Maps and GOOGLE MAPS and you should get the spot.
As these ventures suit layouts, can we build up a list of similar sites for future reference?
Regards,
Andrew G.

That would be a sweet industry to model.

I like centerbeams and I often thought a lumber distributor would be a ideal industry for me to model.

Well if you are looking for a good centerbeam industry how about Harris Rebar? <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.harrisrebar.com/">http://www.harrisrebar.com/</a><!-- m -->

Notice how many they have on the track in waiting. Also note how the track "S" through the yard and building. The small out building after the main building on the spur adds nice attractive addition to model.
