Turned out today was grass mowing day. The grass had grown four plus inches since the 19th (seven days ago) and no way could it be let go for another week. It took nearly four hours to cut. Anymore work today is out of the question.

Afternoon all been a quiet day. Not much going on did climb on top of train table to get all the post war items and post war boxes I had on a couple of shelves up there and moved them so there now inside the cabinets under the counter. 2 complete trains sets and some other items. That took a bit as had to organize them also to how I wanted them well the first piece was easy that was a complete set in set box then came the other set getting it and all it pieces. then just organizing the rest in there. Didn't realize some of the items I found I forgot about I had a 2338 tmcc Milwaukee rd GP-9 that I had up there with that stuff in a repo post war box

Other than above I actually took it easy today. Hope all had a good day Need to prep my self for getting up at 5:15 tomorrow lol haven't done that in almost a week lol.

Tired and sore from the workout on the tractor today. Hopefully if I'm not hurting too bad tomorrow I'll be able to get some layout work in even if it's throwing out some empty boxes. Progress is progress no matter how small.

Ordered the new power supply for my Apple IIe this morning and it's on it's way. I should have it by the 1st. It's a six amp job, a good upgrade from the three amp one that's in it now.

Time to call it a night. see y'all tomorrow.

ezdays Wrote:Good morning everyone, nice day in store for here, but a little hot. I was planning on going out target shooting this week, but the other guy backed out. Maybe that's not so bad given that we're looking at some record temps later this week. Friday and Saturday's forecast is for 117°, a bit toasty even for here. Well, not as bad as in 1990 when the high for today was 120, and tomorrow's high was 122. These are the days that you do any outside work before the sun comes up and if you go anywhere, you try not to do it after around noon. We were shopping at Walmart this morning around 6:30. By 7 or 8, it will be hard to find a parking spot there. Eek
My talkative friend Bill is in a gun club and we go shooting most Wed. or Thur. unless its too cold or one of us has a obligation, we went today. Its a real nice range, we have a rifle range, a bowling pin range, a pistol range and two skeet ranges, all have patio type roofs for shade from the sun and tables for your stuff. Its on the way out to the desert in a canyon type area. You can only shoot at a range here, how is it in Arizona?
Tomorrow I'm doing one of my most unfavorite tasks that I have to do at the beginning of summer. Up on my roof , clean the tank on my cooler, replace the pads, some years I can skip that but most of the time they need to be replaced, fill the tank with water and hope it doesn't leak. I'm old enough to not like going up on the roof at all. If it leaks then I siphon and bail out the water, dry the tank and paint it with special cooler tar like stuff and then start again. Summers heat is here.

Dennis, you use a chiller type A/C?? Maybe I will get to see you while I'm in LA with Shake and Bake.

Big rain came through. Got a good soaking. Some folks had some damage but not wide spread.

Got 7 AM meeting in Raleigh. Nope

Sleep tight.

Good morning. It's 74° with 100% humidity. The high will be 95°.

It's so humid here this morning it sounds like there a major rain shower in the a/c unit. Looks like it's going to be another hot one today. I think I may be able to get in some layout work today. The pain in my back and shoulders should permit me to do some light work at least but I have to try to keep it to fifteen pounds or less. I don't know of anything else that'll be going on here today.

Good morning all.

Had alot of rain lastnight with lots of lightning and thunder, we missed the heavy winds and hail this time 2285_

No news train wise, just been doing the job search routine and applying here and there.

Good morning folks, not much going on today, a bit too hot to do much outdoors, we did start off a bit cooler than expected, here it is after 7 and we're only at 79. We will probably get up to the 112 forecast, but the weather warning on TV is saying that we could get up to 121 in some areas between Phoenix and Yuma. No, I don't think we'll go out shooting in the desert anytime soon. Hey, I might even have time to work on my orphan challenge. Which reminds me, we still have openings for anyone that want's to enter. Yeah, it's not too late to jump in. Welcome Welcome

Well I had to forget about any layout work today. I moved a couple of computer keyboards and a few model kit boxes from under the layout to the closet and by that time my body was letting me know it wasn't liking that at all. I was feeling so bad I went back to bed for a few hours. So it's looking like maybe another day or two before I can get a serious start on moving stuff from under there. Getting under there isn't hard and getting out from under there isn't very hard either. Getting up is the hard part. A bum leg and a foot that's all but useless, compromised muscle control of the arms and other leg and throw in a flaky sense of balance and you get why I have a hard time just walking a short distance let alone getting to a standing position. I can't even kneel without falling over most of the time. So to work under the layout I have to be sitting on the floor as I can't squat down. Most of the time that's comfortable until it comes time to get up. It's much easier if I can grab the edge of the layout and pull myself up. Of course by then I don't want to get back under there for a while. So maybe tomorrow or Saturday I can get under there again. In other news, well there is no other news here that I know of so that's it for now.
