Casting and molding
#1
I was reading a trial issue of finescale modeler and ran across an ad for stuff called composi-mold a reuseable molding rubber that can be melted down and used to make a new mold several times over. I have not tried it yet but will give it a try in the near future.

Not sure where this would fit in so I started a new topic Icon_lol

Wow, that looks like it might have some use for me, since there are a lot of small kit parts unique to my MU cars that it would be nice to duplicate (not all of them came out in the best shape, unfortunately).

Its reusable nature also means if the mold breaks, I can just "Remold" it around the original part.

Update on composi-mold

Micro mark now carries composi-mold.

I was sent an e-mail from Micro mark and there was a link to a video showing the product in use and they used casting resin from micro mark in the mold. From what I understand you can cast in any material so long as the material temperature is not above the melting point of the mold material.
