CSX expects increased local activity. A second MP15AC has been prepared with sound and ditch lights to cover that traffic.
Merry Christmas!

I added two photos of the shell and drive prior to assembly. The ditch light LEDs are very bright and need 3k0 resistors. I had only 1k5 resistors at home therefor the unusual resistor wiring. The front and rear lights are fine with 1k5 resistors.

The Atlas 8-40B was the most easy ditch light client. The decoder and dummy ditch light have been installed some time ago. Drilling two holes through the pilot mounted ditch light dummies, minimal milling for the wires, glue two prewired SMD in the holes and solder them with resistor to the Tsunami 2. Perfect easy job after a great Christmas lunch with all blood in the stomach Big Grin

I played with the camera when the main lights at the ceiling are switched off. Looks quite different.

No industry #3! The temporary industry #3 has been replaced by weed, shrubs and trees to emphasize the rural theme of the layout. The track is "reused" as a local staging track for the other three industries.

Florida trio upgrade operation completed. All three CF7 got Kato motors and LED lights some years ago. This time they received three Tsunami 2 sound decoders and LED ditch lights. The FMRR 65 (most back position) got a new red paint replacing the black color scheme of the FMRR 63.

Thanks for the kind words.

My old Proto 2000 shells got the ditch lights they deserve. Two ride on Trainman drives and Tsunami 2 sound decoders while two are sitting on dummies with Lokpilot 4.0 for light handling.
Without the palm trees fit the dummies perfect with NS GP38-2 to form CSAO consists.

An Athearn RTR SD40-2 had dummy ditch lights #294 from "Finishing Models". They are made from cast but I wanted to add SMD LEDs. The hole in the back of the casting must be big enough to ensure none or only one side of the LED can touch it. Works fine and the old Tsunami 1 is great for driving front ditch lights only.
Similar ditch lights are available from Shapeways in N and O scale. The designer did not respond to my request to do them in HO too.
