1960 Era Layout
#1
Fellas,While visiting a local HO club today a bizzare subject came up and I wonder what your thoughts would be.
Is it possible to build a 1960 era layout in 2018 using Atlas brass or nickel silver  track and a MRC 501 Throttle Pack? Guide lines and scenery techniques for layouts of that era would need to be followed.

I believe it can be done since a lot of 50/60 era cars and locomotives can be found on e-Bay and at train shows.
Three of the 20 something members thought it would be a cool idea for a hobby heritage display layout.
Before the "why" part was discuss it was time to start operation.

Larry, I don't see any reason it couldn't be done. Atlas brass scetional track and switches are easy to come by and the buildings and rolling stock can even be found in yard sales. Interesting concept, it would be good for the younger set to see what we were able to do, and there are still lots of books out there and many modeling magazines from that era too.

I feel it should be easy to do. A good place to start might be old magazines to see what the new ideas were and see the ads. There is a train shop near me that is a part of an antique shop. It has a lot of things that could be used in such a project. I mean stuff still in the sealed package.
