I may give that a try.

I made a good amount of progress yesterday. I got the windows installed. I added the “glass” to the doors. And lastly, I erected the walls.

Next is install the doors. Then it is decision time. Do I weather the walls before I install the roof?

I assembled the two major pieces of the roof. I decided to make the roof removable. For the moment it is just sitting on the walls. I made it removable to allow for any problems that could occur such as a derailed loco. Also, if the mood strikes me and I decide to detail the inside I can.

I need to finish the roof structure and install the stacks.

Tom:
I sometimes glue roofs on with WS Accent Glue. It's kind of like rubber cement, but reusable (supposedly). Just sticky stuff and can be removed.
May not work if you plan to get inside the building frequently, but it will survive the occasional knock.

Most modellers can get two of them to work.

That is a amazing conversion you have conjured out of this kit which is known here at the other side of the big pond as Pola Modell Worship Applause

Thanks all for the nice words.

David thanks for the suggestion. I will look into it.

I have finished building the Engine House. The last things were finishing the roof and adding the downspouts.

Next is weathering the building.

I built the crane that came with the kit. All that is left is to attach the hook.

I am contemplating painting the crane. I am thinking black. Any suggestions?

Good work Tom
I would paint the crane in either equipment green or safety yellow. Black will just make it disappear into your layout.

what ever color you decide on add some rust , as all the places I've worked that had a outside crane it had a patina of rust .

I had thought of yellow but not green. I am really liking green.

Rust and I are old friends. I got it in pastels and paint.

The weathering of the Engine House is complete, and it has been placed on the layout temporarily. When it is placed permanently, I will have to add some height to the foundation son the doors will clear the rails especially once they are resting on roadbed.
