Wayne, you must be the tidiest slob I know ... Icon_lol ... when I am working on something, everything around me usually turns into disaster area. This pic shows what my workbench looked like this morning after I worked on my gantry crane last night ... well, that’s quite tidy for me, I can do better than that Goldth .

I just happened to notice this thread this morning, and I just took a picture of my work area, as part of a thread on another forum. So, here is my work area, and my current "project", USS Kodiak NCC-6000.[attachment=1757]
I do have a work bench in the basement, where all the "machine tools" reside. I do have to fight off the spiders, to get to the drill press, and lathe, as most of my work is with hand tools.
This is the same work area, in a much cleaner state:[attachment=1758]
Alright I'm in:

Here is my shop at home... well the one for model railroading, RC and for music anyway.... doesnt include my other shop in the garage with all the big tools where my son works on all his smelly nitro cars Goldth Sawdust sticks to Nitro fuel residue really well!
bob im into rc a little bit also and i have to ask,is that a tamiya grasshopper up on the left shelf in your last photo Eek ? talk about retro Misngth --josh
Ok guy's here is my little retreat area.
work shop continued
mine is either in the living room in front of the teevee, on the back patio, the kitchen table, or this small detached workshop by my carport. It's a mess right now, because I haven't yet cleaned up after some extensive auto repair.
Here is my work place, right in my layout room and almost enclosed by the layout.
(Spray painting isn't done here - for this I go to the garage. BTW: It isn't a bad idea to take the car out of the garage before painting! )

The third, somewhat older pic shows the more normal status of my workspace: Looking like the world before creation of the chaos!

Some of you guys have way too much time to tidy up...you all ever think of havin' a hobby?
Here is mine . It is pretty simple and was a gift from a club member to me after his passing. I actually got it loaded with tools (even though I had most).
It is nice as I think of him smiling down on me every time I approch it as well as his expertice rubbing off.

Not a mess.......organized chaos
If it was nice and neat, we couldn't find anything.
My theory...And its only a theory.....The pics of the ones that are nice an tidy, were cleaned up before the pic was taken(good reason to clean it I guess)
Neat and Clean;
Yes My area is neat and clean,if there is one thing my pop taught me it was when your finished put your tools away and clean up OR ELSE.Didn't ever want to find out what the or else was,so I just make it a habit of keeping the area clean, besides if the 6'2" redhead comes down and finds it a mess you guys don't have to live with her.
