Today I removed all the rolling stock and locomotives and boxed them all back up so a portion can be sold off.
The skirting was almost all removed and Robins doll molds were taken out from under the layout.
Then all the people , autos , and some of the structures were removed.
Tomorrow I will take the remaining structures off and maybe the facia will go next.

Funny how it tears down so much faster than it goes in.

Seeing all the beautiful scenery going away, there is only one thing I can say: [Image: 17121.gif]

Well a good portion of the scenery will be back , just in different locations (I hope).

Today I got all the facia off and almost all electronic devices removed. Then started on the tree removal and the remaining drive-in , turntable , roundhouse , repair shed , and 2 houses as well as the river bridges. I then moved on to the scenery over the helix and on around to the other side of the center loop. This is all the scrap my S10 could hold. so done for today. I now need to see where I may be able to get Homasote around here.

Mike, what is the appeal of Homosote?

I have never used it, one guy up here has his layout done with it, but the others say it is expensive, hard to find and never has a smooth surface as the density is not consistent.

Mine is a combination of plywood and foamboard. Plywood where I wanted the turntables mounted.
Foam where I wanted to cut out under the tracks.
That just hurts to look at. Sad

But what will be built will look great I bet. Thumbsup
Thanks Herc.
Will Homasote is a recycled , pressed paper product and the biggest advantage is it takes and holds track nails well. It is pretty easy to cut and really should be painted before doing scenery. The scenery can be stapled and takes and holds plasters well also. I assume (if I can find it) the price will be about $30.00 a sheet.

Here is the latest YouTube video of the teardown. I will try to update as I go and it will also go out in our news letter.

Here is the progress as of today. It is down to the bare risers. Tomorrow it will be re-habing the backdrop and removing the the yard benchwork and the helix benchwork.

Thanks Will , I did .
A local building supply store (L&P Buildy Suppy) ordered it for me and it should be here Monday.
I love the stuff but YEP $30.00 a stinking sheet , for re-cycled paper.
BEING GREEN COSTS A LOT !!!!!!!!!!!
