This is todays progress , I got a lot of plastering done and the right hand facia up. All the facia is done and the Un-obtainium mine has found a home as well as the mine train. The dry wash area was also plastered and that whole end of the layout is ready for base scenery.

you make it look way too easy Mike!

It's inspiring to see you just plow through like this!

one thing I forgot to ask...

on your control pannel with the track plan laid out and the switches on it... when you throw one of those switches, does it throw the turnout? So can you use either the kato or your diagram to throw points?

Luke the kato turnout controls work all the turnouts and the panel switches are for block control when in DC mode.
Thanks , Mike

cool!

Now, maybe you can answer this one...

With the Kato turnouts... if I get stationary decoders for them, do I still need to get the switches?

Fantastic work Mike, You are certainly moving along at a rather rapid rate.
You have done a great job on blending the backdrop into the layout. A question if I may, the tree for thee dolls house, do you intend to cover all the smaller end branches with the "silicon" or are they left bare? If so, is the wire paintable or does the foliage hide it?

Great atmosphere on the countryside parts of the layout. Will have to check this thread more often for new pictures!
